I's a shame because I cannot stand DVO now.

sofiahelin · 18/12/2015 22:06

Yanbu it's like taking your kid on a lads night out Confused

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 18/12/2015 22:10

Chris Evans admitted he was a shit dad and buggered off when she was a baby.

She did reconcile with him eventually and she was happy enough with their relationship to let him give her away when she married.

CPtart , stick that up your arse.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 18/12/2015 22:13

I loved the show and his kids looked happy enough.

leccybill · 18/12/2015 22:17

I just loved the Big Breakfast, Lock Keepers Cottages, Zig and Zag, More Tea Vicar, all of it. I also loved Denise and Jonny, geeeenius, the pun-down, it was pretty cool in its time. TFI was cool and edgy without really trying to be... but I don't think bringing it back has really worked.
It def has an air of desperation about it- I cringed when Chris tried to 'break the internet' by having Take That pretend to be a chair - no-one really cares about them anymore, not does anyone call it 'the Internet'.

Sparklingbrook · 18/12/2015 22:20

Don't forget Paula Yates on that huge bed.

Take That really need to pack it in IMO.

cardibach · 18/12/2015 22:24

Savage - what? I listen to the morning show on the way to work, and apart from a. Dry occasional Scordingeraint of Noah saying 'Happy Tuesday' or whatever, I've. Never heard him!
leccy what do you call the Internet then, if not 'the Internet'?
I like Evans. Makes my long commute less dull. Basically decent, I gunk, despite some mistakes in younger years.

MistressMerryWeather · 18/12/2015 22:30

I call it the internet.

Am uncool and haven't realised? Xmas Sad

Sparklingbrook · 18/12/2015 22:31

is there a new fangled word for the internet that we don't know?

Savagebeauty · 18/12/2015 22:32

He doesn't miss an opportunity to talk about his kids, his freebies, and Top Gear.

Sparklingbrook · 18/12/2015 22:37

Isn't that what DJs do though? Talk about what's going on in their life?

I don't listen to CE but because of DS1 have to put up with Grimmy's inane ramblings.

Savagebeauty · 18/12/2015 22:40

DJs should talk about music.
That's why Johnnie Walker is so good.A man who knows his stuff.

Sparklingbrook · 18/12/2015 22:47

I guess it depends what you listen to the radio for. I am not bothered with talking about music, I want to listen to something entertaining that will make me smile.

I like Greg James. Blush

leccybill · 18/12/2015 22:56

I don't know, he just sounded a bit clunky, like my dad does, when he said it. To me, apps and brands are so commonplace now, that I wouldn't really say to someone, 'I was reading this thing on the Internet that said...', I'd just say I saw it on Mumsnet, or Facebook or whatever.

Sparklingbrook · 18/12/2015 23:00

'Breaking the internet' was a reference to when one of the Kardashians bared their arse wasn't it? People said it broke the internet at the time.

FannyFifer · 18/12/2015 23:13

TFI Friday should have remained in the 90s where it belongs.

SmellyFartado · 19/12/2015 02:03

Agree that the show should have been left in the 90's when it was still relevant and entertaining.

Does Chris Evans have kids? I'd no idea! He never mentions them.

Wagglebees · 19/12/2015 03:25

I adored The Big Breakfast and TFI. Thought I was the coolest thing in the world watching it on my tiny screened, huge backed portable tv whilst getting ready to go see a band at the pub. Getting ready involved a bottle of lemon hooch, roller ball glitter and one of those black stretchy tattoo choker things.

I haven't watched the new series, it just won't be the same. I don't want to be reminded we all grew up. Grin

Savagebeauty · 19/12/2015 07:40

youmustbekidding not a fan then Grin
I totally agree with you.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 19/12/2015 07:49

youmust

You won't be watching Top Gear then? Wink

FrancesNiadova · 19/12/2015 08:04

I just don't like the way that he pushes them into everything. I don't think that the TFI environment is the place for children & the whole shamelessly exploiting your children thing makes me cringe.

(I listen to radio 4 in the morning Xmas Blush)

Meh There were always kids on TFI. If you don't like it, well, do what I do, don't turn it on.

It is a programme whose day has gone, used to be OK, is now crap! So I don't bother. Maybe it still feels fresh to those too young to have seen it before, if so, I wish them joy of it.

But, other than that, who really cares? He is available on radio and telly, both of which have off buttons. No one has to see or hear him, unless they are into such forms of masochism!
