AIBU to not want my 8YO to say 'fart'

I hate the word and shudder just typing it.

I see it as a mild sweary-word and don't let him use it. It makes me feel a bit sick. Am I on my own with this - everyone here (apart from DH) thinks I'm unreasonable.

Should I give him the gift of being allowed to say 'fart' eurgh for Christmas, or make him say trump, pimp and pump for the rest of his life...

You paint a vivid picture Mistress. Grin

The warthog would also be grunting and straining a bit. And there'd be a lot of splatter.

wipes away tears of mirth

I was brought up in a very Victorian household by my ageing stepfather where words like bum or fart were the height of despicable rudeness and should NEVER be uttered. If one absolutely had to make reference to such things it was bottom or rude smell.

I'm now 43, my husband uses the worst profanity I've ever heard (and some I haven't), and we roar with laughter at every rowdy fart and discuss them in terms of merit.
