to hold the neighbours parcel at random (lighthearted)

The postman delivered me some Christmas present parcels this morning and he accidentally gave me my neighbours also..

These neighbours have kept us up for the past week with their love of banging and DIY past 11 o'clock. Me and DP can't sleep and it keeps waking DS up from his naps. DP has gone round to ask to keep noise down however they refuse to answer the door to him.. Not to mention them using our only car parking space, even though they have two of their own which I have also asked them to stop using...

Now AIBU unreasonable to hold the parcel at random until we can come to some kind of nice neighbour treaty or sell it and invest in some very decent earplugs?

Lighthearted thread..

Just be sure to take a couple of days to consider all the options.

I mean, when I get parcels I immediately take them to the hiding place.... I don't look at them. It may be Christmas Eve before I open them!

Just saying

Bang on the door at 3 in the morning until they finally answer and then say sorry thought you must be up seen as your always fucking banging around late at night, here's your parcel

I think I remember your precious thread from when they moved in, OP.

If you have a copy of the deeds to wave at them, then you MUST enforce having your parking space. Speak to your LL if necessary. It's not acceptable for them to just act as if they own it, regardless of what they thought they were sold.

Sorry to hear the DIY is still going on.

I second the note about not answering the door to you and asking them to call round at their convenience.

Sorry 3sugars! Previous, of course. All genuinely meant, I am sorry they are still being arses.

Did you relinquish the parcel or is it still tied to a chair? Xmas Grin

Ring their bell to deliver it at 2 a.m.

LaurieFairyCake · 18/12/2015 22:04

Have you taken it round yet???

PegsPigs · 19/12/2015 13:18

Love Mutton's idea. Both passive aggressive and leaves you with a clear conscience!

3sugarsplease · 19/12/2015 13:33

I decided to proceed with a clear but slightly naughty conscience. I knocked at there house at about 9.30 the other night.. No answer. Both cars were there and could see lights through the edges of the blinds.

I tried... So today I returned it to the post office and said it was delivered to my address by mistake. Am sure the post man will redeliver to them in the next couple of days.. Grin

You should have left a passive aggressive note too!! So they know to answer the door to you in future just in case it's a parcel next time rather than telling them to keep the DIY noise down for the 20th time
