Seen a flat we like the look of, well within budget, great locale. Etc.
We brought a surveyor friend along to 2nd viewing to check out the building as some of the "Home Report" could be iffy (we're in Scotland).
Top flat in 1980's block. Been vacant for a while, we understand the owner had just rented it out to tenants.
Surveyor chum took a peek in the attic of the flat.
Then...
wait for it...
An EGG falls down. It does not hit our friend but lands on the floor (much to the embarrassment of estate agents).
Our stoic chum is not fazed but continues looking at roof space. It's like someone set it up to fall out
as a kind of weird "trap".
Our friend said "well people put rubbish in lofts, don't worry about it". But I'm more suspicious, it wasn't like there was lots of food stored up there or anything
Now. I'm veering on the side of making an offer. But chatting to other residents of the building we were led to believe that the last tenants of the flat we want to buy were anti-social nightmares, needed to be evicted, etc. I reckon they might have stuck the egg up there to piss off the owners?
So now I'm wondering if the whole place could have been sabotaged (and more seriously than a childish "egg on head of nasty owners" situation)? Like seriously interfering with things that could crop up later (eg electrics and things like that)
Is the whole place booby trapped?
I love it, I must say apart from that.
