To think they should have phoned me when they said they would re:job and not doing so is disrespectful

So I went for a job interview yesterday morning. They explained they had another interview this morning and that they would let me know today if I'd been successful (there were 4 candidates in total). I've heard nothing having understandably been on edge and anxious all day! Am I right to feel this is very disrespectful to not call when they said they would? (Was in the NHS by the way if this makes any difference!). I appreciate they may be busy but to me this is not good practice. Aibu?

To be fair, the average NHS HR department appears to be unable to organise a vertical urination in a brewery (even with the aid of a catheter), so I'm not surprised.

I had a job interview 3 weeks ago. Had to wait 30 mins past appointment time for them to see me, then followed a 1 hour interview panel and a 1 hour computer skills test. I thought it went well but I have not even had an email to say I was unsuccessful which I am extremely pissed off about as I would have liked feedback from the skills test at least. This was with a large county council.

I am furious tbh. If I have taken the time to spend nigh on 3 hours of my time to be interviewed, they could at least spend 5 mins pinging off an email to tell me that I was crap!

There's several things that could be going on,they may not have made a decision- the nhs uses a score system in interviews if 2 people score the same they have to look in great depth at the application and job history which can take a while. Alternatively you are second choice but first choice hasn't accepted the job so they are waiting to hear from them before rejecting you. Alternatively something came up that has meant they can't call, the people interviewing you have jobs other than your recruitment.

It is annoying, but as you can see sometimes other work gets in the way.

I interviewed candidates recently and made it clear they would not hear until the following week. I also provided detailed feedback - you didn't mention xxxx, you gave a strong answer to xxxxx, your answers were too long and unstructured - to anyone who asked.

Fair points, but when it's via an agency, whose job IS recruitment, then you do rather wonder what they're doing.
