AIBU?

AIBU to starve my DH? (lighthearted)

This isn't a TAAT but is a rant inspired by another thread.

DH eats close to 5000 cals a day. He's 6ft 7 and has a very physical job. He's really skinny. On the other hand, I only need to sniff food to put on a pound.

We both eat pretty unprocessed food so I guess he's healthy but he costs a bloody fortune to feed.

WIBU to either starve him or put him on rations? He breaks the bank every week. He could be like Oliver Twist Grin What are my options? Lock him in a cupboard and throw him scraps? How can I feed him more cheaply?
disclaimer - I'm not actually responsible for feeding him, he does majority of evening meals and more than half the food shop so this is all VERY lighthearted

Cheese fondue with bread & apple slices is bloody delicious. 400g of cheese will help increase his calories.
Also, pnut butter & banana toasted sandwiches are v high cal yumminess.

stews with loads of dumpings and pearl barley as well as veg and meat.

Second the Yorkshire pudding and onion gravy starter or accompaniment.

I make a stew with pork shoulder, chorizo and either butter beans or chick peas along with tomatoes onions and garlic. That would work in a slow cooker and serve with crusty bread.

Either make your own bread or if yoy can get to the supermarket in the evening, buy the reduced stuff.

DH literally eats through our food budget. I'm fine with one serving, while he can eat 3 at a time and still be a healthy weight

We use lots of noodles, rice, and potatoes to supplement dishes so they last longer. We also make a lot of slow cooker meals and hearty soups.

My DH is the same. He's the chef in this house, and he eats a lot. The frets a bit when he sees me and DD subsiding on a bit of popcorn during the day, and whips up snacks convinced that we must be hungry.
