Should I go back and ask for a refund and warn you all about this product?

More of a WWYD, sorry!
Decided to try the Kiehls midnight recovery concentrate after reading glowing reviews online so purchased it yesterday. Used it for the first time last night, thought it felt lovely.
I woke up this morning with burning, bright red cheeks and the skin is itching and has actually begun to change texture to a bumpy almost scaly feeling. Have applied hydrocortisone 1% twice since this morning and taken the maximum dose of chlorphenamine 4mg but nothing has changed.
Should I take the serum back and ask for a refund as a clearly can't use it? Unsure as I know cosmetics are usually unable to be returned

That doesn't mean everyone with sensitive skin will react to it though.
I have sensitive skin but i can't use simple products as i suffer a reaction.
One product isn't going to suit everyone.

definitely return with photos! pharma companies have a massive problem because people don't actually tell them when products cause reactions.

It caused a flare up for the op but it might cause anaphylaxis in someone else....without the data the risk assessments can't be done.

YABU to be in any sense surprised that putting random chemicals on your skin can be a bad idea, YA also BU for buying said chemicals in the hopes of them doing any good.

The last thing pharma companies want is products that are actually physiologically functional. If the product DID anything then they wouldn't be able to sell them as cosmetics....they would be drugs/medicines and require actual proper regulation.

The majority of the industry is a fraud and dangerous to boot.

Save your money and your skin is my advice.
