To be fair I didn't know it was them DH is in the other room watching TV and I heard singing, I like this I thought, who is it, thinking that DH (a music buff) was watching a music channel, went and had a look, bloody 1D on Jonathan Ross , they are young enough to be my Grandsons I should NOT even contemplate listening to them let alone liking the flaming song.

Why do people think that if you're in your 60's you'd have been listening to Val Doonican and Perry Como when you were young?

Contemporary music sounds old-fashioned to me because it's basically 'ballads', pre-Rock n Roll. We had the Glory Days of the Stones, the Kinks, Dylan, the Beach Boys, too many to list.

I just got their new album this week, I have them all and love Harry

I REALLY like One Direction, too. It's the musical composition its quality and depth which is the draw for me. Actually, the songs are very catchy, and Harry and those other boys do sing well. Still mad at Zayn, though. Why Zayn, why?

I quite like some of their music although I agree about the lyrics to the latest one MakeItRain.

They are all younger than my youngest DC but I have always quite liked boy bands (with the exception of the Bay City Rollers who were dreadful), especially the likes of Backstreet Boys and Westlife . I like the voices.

Cannot understand why they go mad for Harry though. Skinny legs and needs a hairstyle.
