To say talktalk is the worst phone/Internet/TV provider

Their customer service is shit. I was on the phone for a hour with them today and ended up screaming fuck off and putting the phone down.

I can't wait till February when I'm out of my contract. I just want something that works ffs and since they won't fix it or want to charge me for an engineer to come out I'm leaving the fuckers.

Argh Angry I've been with them for years now, renewed my contract 3 times but I'm not paying for shit customer service with Internet that keeps dropping.

I'm so glad it's not me, I fully expected to be flamed for shouting at customer services. Grin

Londonrach they have come up on the comparison site being a pound cheaper then talktalk, I've just never heard of them before.

I'm not sure whether to go for something like plusnet or get sky.

yabu only because they cannot possibly, possibly be worse than bt.

londonrach I don't understand how plusnet can be staffed in yorkshire, when it is owned by BT and 28 out of the 31 BT staff members I've spoken to in the last 3 weeks have been in india (despite their promise of getting rid of offshore staffing)

treaclesoda I think with a lot of these companies, everything is absolutely fine and they seem great while your just using the service and have no need to contact them. It's when you have to make a (what should be quite a staightforward, everyday change), like move house or change your package that the problems start and you find out how truly incompetent they are.

we had similar experiences with talk talk. Crackly line, internet dropping on/off. Hours on the phone to customer services etc. Eventually switched to virgin media and have much faster broadband & no problems with the internet or phone. They are more expensive but it's worth it to get reliable service. wish had switched years ago

The are a waste of space. Internet drops off several times a day counting down the months to end of contract. Who next though?

dementedma · 22/11/2015 15:06

They are the worst ever. We had to threaten them with all sorts of legal action to get rid of them and get our money back. Absolute shite!

The thing with these companies is that you only find out how shit they are when you have a problem and need their help. So being with them for years and having no problems is not indicative of great customer service if you've never had to deal with customer service. I've never used Talk Talk, but a freind has and after months of trying to sort out a mistake they made it's still not sorted. He hates them.

I've been with BT, Virgin and Plusnet so far. BT were awful; useless at dealing with an issue and kept making mistakes...the left hand not knowing what the right hand were going. Kept telling me the problem was sorted but wasn't. Round and round in circles I went. Virgin were OK, although they spelt my (common and simple) name wrong when setting up my account, which meant they gave me an email address with my name spelt wrong and couldn't change it because that was how my account was set up! I left Virgin because, although the service was fine, their prices kept going up and up and they refused to do any sort of deal whatsoever unless you're a new customer that is. Plusnet have been fine so far and tec support were really helpful when I did have internet problems.

We had issues with EE recently, according to them it was our equipment's fault, then they done their tests (including getting dh to unscrew the phone socket!!!) and said our end was fine it must be an exchange issue and would be fixed by a set day.
The day arrives and no internet, dh phones to be told that nothing had been checked and we were getting blamed again even though at that point we could call out.
He got so pissed at the lies and the fact he had to keep chasing them up even though each and every one promised to phone him back that he cancelled, we were lucky as we were on a rolling contract so will be free on the 27th.
Monday after fending off the teenager again about lack of internet and also now no phone line I blew my top and told him that he could tell them that if they were dictating a 2 week period where we had to stay then they bloody well could fix it!
Went for my run on Wednesday (4 weeks after initial contact) and my dad phoned to say 2 Open Reach vans had turned up and they had went round my back garden.
When I got back I found a young guy up a ladder sorting the phone line from the post as the plastic had degraded and led to the wire snapping giving us an intermittent connection when the weather was in its favour and being in central Scotland that wasn't very often.
If you are confident the issue is not in your property tell them to send Open Reach out to check their property but tell them you will refuse entry or pay for anything, your contract is with talktalk theirs is with Open Reach.
Good luck I truly understand how frustrating it is paying for something you are not receiving and dealing with these call centres is soul destroying Flowers
