To illegally download Dvds

My darling wife (can I say DW?) has a bro in law who illegally downloads films. We live in a flat and need storage space for DD's toys. I have taken all the Dvds out of the cupboard and put them in the loft. I've asked DW if her bro in law can copy our dvd films onto a hard drive but she said he will use his illegally downloaded films to do that. Your thoughts pls?

I wish Dhaka would ditch the bloody dvds. We have about 300 of the fuckers, taunting me from shelves that otherwise promise minimalism.

We got rid of our dvd bookshelf thing when dd was born to make more space, dh bought a couple of dvd book things that you can fit loads of them in without the cases so now they're in a cupboard. All there and accessible but not in cases and taking up barely any room! I think they're 100 or so to a book and he got them on Amazon.

Dh not bloody Dhaka

Just get a book to store DVDs and get rid of the boxes. I got mine from Amazon, it holds 500 discs.

Is there a secret version of Netflix I've never seen. There's hardly a decent film on it. If it wasn't for being able to re-watch Malcolm Tucker at my leisure I'd bin it!

DixieDarling · 17/11/2015 23:00

I agree! Netflix is limited and bit annoying. Plus if the wifi goes down (a common occurrence) it doesn't bloody work anyway.

Seeyounearertime · 17/11/2015 23:02

The secret to Netflix is US DNS codes.
The US Netflix is superior.

JohnCusacksWife · 17/11/2015 23:11

I have not a clue what that means, Seeyounearertime!

Junosmum · 17/11/2015 23:15

Seeyounearertime- that is also technically illegal (but I do it, and I've downloaded films, never bought a dodgy DVD though)

Seeyounearertime · 17/11/2015 23:22

Technically illegal? I read that it was actually neither here nor there in legality terms.

You're not breaking the law using a VPN or DNS, nor breaking the law paying Netflix for a service. I'll have to look into it some more me thinks. I know Netflix don't encourage it but they also do nothing to stop it.

Yup. Get a dvd book

ChocolateFuzz · 18/11/2015 04:27

You need to remember that if you download pirared dvds you are still funding the pirares through ad revenue

icklekid · 18/11/2015 05:41

Totally disagree with illegal download but can see why your bil would use his copies but what I don't understand is why you are asking him to do it rather than do it yourself? If you can't be bothered accept he will use illegal versions!
