The gym is remodeling, they have shut the s&s rooms while they do this, although physically they could of left the old ones open while building new ones.

Its going to be 8 weeks without either. Aibu to ask them for a refund of my fivety a month?

I really look forward to them after a session.

I'm pretty sure the small print will state that certain facilities may be out of order for maintenance etc periodically.

Have a word with the management, though if you think there is some way of keeping the spa facilities open. If enough people ask they may look again.

Our gym had a major refurb last year which was a total pain but the new changing rooms and spa are lush and worth the pain. Smile

And ignore the people on here who having nothing better to do. Sad

Sorry, tom, but I properly laughed at 'Shawna'. Grin

In all seriousness, I'd be surprised if the gym would give you a discount. My gym was half the size in the summer due to a refurb which made it impossible to use at peak hours (the only time I could go). One of my colleagues complained and got a couple of guest passes by way of an apology and she is not one to be fobbed off. Annoying, but one of those things unfortunately.

Yeah, I reckon you should be entitled to refund. It doesn't matter that these are only a small part of the gym facilities, they were part of what you signed up for, and it's not reasonable for the gym to expect you to be locked into the contract when they have unilaterally changed its terms. However, it probably depends on the terms of your gym contract as to whether you're ENTITLED to a refund, but if you go in and put your case they might relent anyway.

Why isn't it fourty?

I'm going to ask for a refund off my gym. They're shutting the whole gym for one day for staff training and I pay £15 a month. By my reckoning they owe me 50p.

You can only ask! If they got half decent lawyers to review their customer contract terms they should easily be able to defend their right to NOT refund you, but may choose to do so on a discretionary basis.

Charm and emphasis on you being a happy customer who would like to stay happy, rather than quoting consumer law and a sense of entitlement, is the way to go.

There will probably be sometihing in the small print saying what happens when some of the facilities are closed. It is annoying though when you're paying a lot. I left a gym because the jacuzzi was always broken down. Ask for a refund. They can only say no.

:)

Shawna made me smile.

And I can just imagine Sean Connery all hairy in a sauna.

(I'd rather not imagine him in a Shawna)

Yes definitely give it a go.

I pay fourty and a bit for membership of a council gym, but a few neighbouring boroughs are all joined up so I can go to any of them.

OP I didn't see the comment that you had dyslexia. No offence meant.
