to ask if you've had a DC with an overactive bladder

How did you get it diagnosed/treated and how did it go?

I think this is what is causing DD's (4.5) persistent daytime wetting, and am trying to get a doctor to pay attention, and not dismiss it 'because she's still young'. She is, but no-one else in her reception class has this problem and it's horrible for her.

Thanks Picca and Claire. I have the appointment on Monday so a bit late for doing a diary for a week beforehand, but may do that afterwards dep. on what consultant says. Claire - if this consultant isn't helpful will ask you about yours, thank you.

Hi, do you have the name of the consultant please? We are in Kent and desperately looking for someone to help us. Appreciate the post is old, so maybe the consultant does not practise here anymore….

My 11 year old dd has an overactive bladder and is on 2 oxybutin tablets a day. I went through the GP but it's probably easier doing that as she is older. For my 6 year old son still in pull ups it's school health who I speak to

Occult tethered cord can cause overactive bladder

thingsarelookingup · 10/07/2024 11:53

We had similar problems here for years and one of the things that helped was a good probiotic. My DS had withholding and soiling issues too so he had movicol and oxybutynin as well.

BlackeyedSusan · 10/07/2024 12:16

Is she particularly bendy?

If she might be hypermobile oxybutynin is not recommended. Makes it worse.

Does she have (other) sensory issues? Might have poor interoception?
