Should have said I ordered the soap online in case you're thinking of rushing off to a shop that may not have it. Superdrug currently have free delivery on orders over £10 though and Terry's chocolate oranges for £1

I got my secret santa at work a wooden dove with love and peace written on it plaque from asda for £2. She loves it. And doesnt know it was me. Last year i paid i think the same for some heart wood dangly thing which again was well recieved and was £2.

Check the xmas decoration aisle for something.

Lidl have mini panettone for a quid. Votive Yankee candles are about 1.80.

alltheworld · 08/11/2015 21:16

Scratch cards

Don't use Ebay to order something from China now, you'll be lucky to see it before New year.

Dd has a £2 budget for each of her friends & has been busy finding cheap stuff online, including Ebay & Amazon. Some of our local shops or charity shops can accommodate, too.

chumbler · 08/11/2015 22:29

Ooooooh charity shops! Genius Grin

I feel a massive Xmas shop coming on soon!!

wish.com Takes an absolute age for delivery but I have a lovely tardis necklace I bought for £2 plus a pound delivery.

ImperialBlether · 08/11/2015 22:46

Did someone really say they'd give a carrier bag as a Christmas present?

Garlick · 09/11/2015 00:01

I think they were more like pretty bag for life type things, Imperial. I hope so, anyway!

AnyoneButAndre · 09/11/2015 07:32

She meant the little nylon fabric folding bags. Very handy to keep in your handbag and relatively attractive. I'd be pleased to see one in my secret Santa stocking. M&S sell them for a few quid but if you buy them direct from China they cost buttons.

LeaveMyWingsBehindMe · 09/11/2015 07:41

I do think the commercial and retail run up to Christmas is FAR too long now. I realise that people like to plan ahead and spread the cost, buying things over a period of weeks, but hearing Christmas music and seeing shops festooned in decorations a full two months before Christmas Day is just bonkers. I think there's the risk of an immense sense of anti climax by the time Christmas arrives. The whole December is more than enough time and the atmosphere is better kept alive without the overkill.

zipzap · 09/11/2015 18:55

Chumbler The christmas bargain threads are in the Christmas section - they usually move quite quickly (currently on number 9, often get to 30-40 by the January Sales!)

The current one is: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/2502553-Thread-9-the-one-with-the-christmassive-bargains?

And yes, I was the one that suggested bags - albeit not carrier bags!

These reusable shopping bags were the sort of thing I was thinking of!

whoops I'm so sorry I've just realised I posted my last comment on the wrong thread!
