To put an orange in this car exhaust?

Just about joking but not for much longer.

Muppet over the road has got himself a souped up banger with an extra-loud exhaust. He works shifts so gets back at 5 in the morning and sits in his car for 20 minutes revving the engine. It sounds like the start line at a motorbike race.

WIBU to stick an orange in it to go out in my fluffy pink dressing gown at 5am and tell him to shut up?

The guy would start the engine at 6.30am and then leave it for at least fifteen minutes whilst, I assume, waiting for the engine to warm up and the oil to come up to pressure or whatever.

There was someone in our street a few years ago who received a visit from the PCSO, as leaving a car unattended with the engine running is apparently an offence.... Chap never did it again. Never did find out who reported him, but I certainly considered it, as he did this every day in winter.

If he left the car unattended, I'd just go, turn off the engine and take the keys.

:o CokeMachine that's the start of a multi-million £ business plan. Quietly sorting out problems that Brits are too embarrassed to deal with by speaking to their neighbours.

Like lweji'S style.

I think though that I'd also open the drivers window an inch, remove keys, lock car, and post keys through open window...

Too far?

I can still hear her whining voice and that V4 engine revving

seriously doubt it was a V4.

CruCru · 07/11/2015 13:26

I used to live opposite someone who did the whole revving the engine thing first thing in the morning - they had a motorbike and would set off a bunch of car alarms. Every bloody morning.

TheCokeMachine · 07/11/2015 13:41

It was a Toyota Land Cruiser, maybe a V8. I was driving a Ford Fiesta Pop Plus 1.1 at the time Smile

I've no idea about cars but know mine now has 270bhp, and it goes like sh*t of a stick.

But I don't annoy my neighbours with it, I'm just happy it goes like stink and has Bluetooth.
