They think IABVU! They are 19 months, 4.5 and 14. It's a perfectly nice one, with egg noodles, sweet chilli sauce stuff and veg they quite like (baby sweetcorn and carrots etc). They have refused to even so much as touch it. Not a morsel has passed their lips. I spent 5 whole minutes slaving (not shaving autocorrect wtf!) over a hot wok to make that.

AIBU to give up and give them toast. Or Nutella on toast. Or not let them have anything till they have at least attempted to eat it.

Tbf we haven't had it ever in a while but still...

Pffft!

Totally agree with Libraries' eloquent post.

And the point people seemed to miss was that they'd decided they didn't like it without trying it. How did they know?? They are not adults, so don't expect what's right for you always to be right for them.

Glad the 14yo and DH ate it. I like a happy ending! Grin

XiCi and Worlds yes totally agree with you both - would happily cook another meal (maybe through slightly gritted teeth) if children (esp young) didn't like it...

Stir fry with that chilli sauce can be an acquired taste, knocking up an omelette or at least beans/cheese on toast takes minutes in comparison.

I refused chicken once or twice as a child but it was never forced on me... Also it wasn't the taste but cruelty issues... Realising a chicken had been killed at age 7 for me!
