Polite reminder

Aibu to think that even ur an email begins ' a polite reminder to...' It's not a polite reminder but a nag?!

Its the phrase isn't it fudge - reminders themselves can be annoying if you are already aware and working on something, or useful if you aren't... but the phrase "polite reminder" is somewhat trite and annoying in itself... As others have said once you have stated that you are being polite, you probably aren't being, and if you are, its obvious from your choice of words in the body of the mail, not need to make your own politeness the first word of your subject line... :o

I think it's just a way of trying not to make an email or text sound too aggressive or confrontational. I don't have a problem with getting an email starting 'just a polite reminder to everyone that deposits for the Christmas Party are due this Friday'.

However, those 'Polite' notices designed to look like Police notices should be made bloody illegal.
