I can't not say please to Siri. It seems so wrong to simply bark commands at him. But I've stopped thanking him.

The rational part of me knows Siri doesn't care either way. But I wonder if it'll make me a ruder person if I become accustomed to ordering him around like this.

Why is Siri a man on some phones and a lady on others?

You can choose a voice in settings.

How do I get Siri to use my name? Or any name, come to that? I tried ages ago and ended up in a cul-de-sac of tech-rage failure and self-loathing.

In the settings there's a slide button called My Info, touch that and it takes you to your contact list and youcan choose yourself. If you add more info it uses it all, eg address and it can direct you home. I find that a step too far in Big Brotherness personally though so have left it as None.

I change my name on my phone so siri called me something amusing whilst DD and I were playing around....didn't realised that it links to my email so for weeks I'd been signing my emails "Many thank, Mrs fatty pants poo face the 3rd" Confused
But I still thank my phone!

I'm so glad I saw that because I was just about to get Siri to call me Emperess supreme of all space-time and it'd be a bit embarrassing to have that on my emails.
