What is going on?

OP posts:
Ethelswith · 22/10/2015 21:12

I don't like Sports Direct. Very unpopular in both Newcastle and Glasgow.

Topseyt · 22/10/2015 21:18

I don't know where I would be without Sports Direct.

I've bought most of DD3's hockey stuff from there, except for the uniform for her club, which was only available via a smaller local retailer.

Don't they own or at least have a big controlling stake in all of the major brand names they stock? Hence part of the reason they can sell them relatively cheaply.

Youarentkiddingme · 22/10/2015 21:19

I love sports direct. Great cheap sports shoes and their bags are cheap too.

I kitted ds out in football boots, trainers, boot bag and shin pads from there for less than £50 when he started secondary school this year.

And all the SD threads have reminded me he needs a sports bag to carry it all in now as he's taking full on winter gear!

CharityBarnum · 22/10/2015 21:21

There definitely seems to be a theme...

But it has reminded me to go there tomorrow and buy DC2 some new swimming goggles.

CassieBearRawr · 22/10/2015 21:21

HMV don't offer refunds either.

Sports Direct are a shitty company who brazenly take advantage of their staff. I do understand why so many people do shop there, I'm just thankful I'm in a position to make different choices.

mileend2bermondsey · 22/10/2015 21:23

AIBU to think shivoncarla needs to get a fuckin' life?!
As CrapBag aptly put it on one of the 5 million zombie threads shes resurrected, they gave her a giftcard instead of cash, they didn't steal her first born son!

Youarentkiddingme · 22/10/2015 21:27

Well to be fair to Shivon one pair not the size ordered and one pair damaged - wasn't actually her fault. In that case I'd say a refund was due. The third returned pair - yes, I'd expect store credit as they were fine.

CordeliaFoxx · 22/10/2015 21:29

Lol ethelswith i wonder why that is then!! Currently in a Sports Direct ban - DH is from Glasgow!!

pebbletime · 22/10/2015 21:30

presumably you don't have a 'right' to a refund if you simply changed your mind?

devilsbumbag · 22/10/2015 21:34

Sports Direct use zero hours contracts for their workers. I try to boycott all the companies who do plus all the companies who fund the Tories.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/10/2015 21:42

I also hate Sports Direct. Despicable employers. Really vile

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 22/10/2015 22:22

My eight year old will only wear karrimor walking shoes or basic sandshoes. I have to brave that cesspit twice a year to shoe the trollbeast.

Pohtaytoh · 22/10/2015 22:31

So a quick Google of the username shows the same cut and paste post spamming up old sports direct threads on the moneysavingsupermarket forums too. I just don't understand what shivon is hoping to achieve here?

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 22/10/2015 22:53

She clearly has some deep and unresolved anger issues with them

Unfortunately it's reminded me that DS needs new trainers - she had made them a few £1000 extra I reckon !

KenDoddsDadsDog · 22/10/2015 22:54

Sports Direct are a disgrace . I'm not said poster though just saying my bit .

Shinyshoes2 · 22/10/2015 22:58

It's always too hot in their shops ...and stuff , loads of stuff everywhere I got lost in the maze of stuff once ... I was a right mess once I found my way out ...
