I have a new colleague and every day she has told me how naughty and rude and unmanageable her DS is. Latest parents evening report has now been photographed and put online on social media. AIBU to not understand why you'd do this?

You're not obliged to understand anything other people do, so don't worry.

Haven't you asked her? Or opened up the conversation so that she elaborates why his behaviour is tolerated?

Sirzy · 22/10/2015 20:16

Perhaps she is struggling and hoping people will offer some support?

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 22/10/2015 20:20

Is she being self depreciating for comic effect?

Makes a change from all those irritating Facebook posts about how wonderful their children are and what a glowing report they got at parents evening. I've often thought about posting a parody of the exact opposite.

Anyone constantly talking or posting about their kids is a pita. No one cares.

Ask her if she will laugh when he's 6' 2'' and still rude and out if control?

This.

Parenting doesn't have to be perfect with angelic children all the time. Sometimes telling about how naughty your child is lightens the mood. I have a friend how talks about tantrums. We join in an talk about how our kids do the same.
