To think that having a April birthday is the best month to be born in for school

It is in the middle of the academic year so the child should have roughly an average amount of development/ maturity. (Assuming no Sen and that the child is not gifted.) Some September born children might get bored in nursery, some August born children need a little bit more time in nursery.

Can't see the point of that study th. There are so many others factors affecting height and health. My Feb-born DD is 6 months younger than her shorter Aug-born cousin and ill less often.
I think she's just tall like her parents! And we all seem to get ill less often than my niece's family - genes, living by the sea, who knows?

The 11+ is not set or marked by any school. It is administered by Kent county council. The marking system is explained on their web site.

OP I am an August baby as are my 3 brothers

They're doctors and I shall be in a few short years, we never spent any extra time in nursery and I know this will come across as bragging but we are intellectual.

My older sister is a Dentist and born in February.

My younger sister is an April baby - she has to work harder than any of us but she is still intelligent but I would say she is the healthiest of of us all

I think it depends on the person, genetics, environment etc not when you're born at all!

We were all the tallest in our classes.

An April birthday in Scotland is the same as an October birthday in England....

DD2's birthday is late January, making her the equivalent of a July birthday. Thankfully Scotland has more flexibility than the English system and we were able to hold her back a year. She just wasn't ready for school at 4.

Mine is end of April born and is no way ready for school. Evident in his struggles the last 6 weeks or so. No sen. He's just not mature enough for it.
