To be concerned that Dr could not find my cervix?

Went to doctors yesterday to have a coil fitted...unsuccessfully! Doctor tried with a couple different speculums etc to find my cervix with no success (she did find it with her finger but she needed a clear view with the speculum to put the coil in?)

I've got to go back in two weeks for another attempt and hope that its easier to find, but I am concerned especially as less than 6 months ago I had a smear with no issue. Is there something wrong with me?

The doctor who (unsuccessfully) tried to fit mine said I had an irritable cervix which clamped itself shut when she tried to insert the coil! I didn't go back for another attempt!

I have a tilted uterus so its hunt the cervix when i go for a smear i need tobgo to the gp and not the nurse its so awkward and bloody painful. I hope you have better luck next time

Mine is hidden. During last smear I was legs akimbo on the table and the nurse had to kneel on the floor whilst looking through speculum to see it as it was so high and far forward. At he same time I had to hold my hips up with my hands. Try doing that without clenching

So dignified isnt it you know when the put lamp directly up your foof they are going to be rooting

My Dsis' cervix is tilted and hard to find, so you're not alone OP - we both had a coil fitted recently and hers was tricky. My GP said 'what a lovely view of your cervix!' as soon as my legs were akimbo so mine is clearly one of the slappers of the cervix world. They're obviously all different - better luck next time.

Good god vagn. Hopefully you weren't 5 inches.....that's over 12cm! The baby would've fallen out of you
