AIBU?

To not want to buy school uniform from a paedophile

Have nc'd.

Ds started reception this year, and I bought his uniform in the summer. Shortly after, I read in the local news that the owner is a paedophile. He has admitted a series of offences and is awaiting sentencing.

He still lives above the shop. The conditions of his bail include not employing staff under the age of 18 and not being around children without their parents present amongst other things.

I now need extra uniform. I don't want to go near the shop, I don't want to give them my money. I feel sick that my child was trying on clothes in their changing room while he was there. No other shop sells it. Aibu? And wwyd?

Oh also our school sell uniforms that have been given or left at school for 50p per item. Check if your school does anything like this.

You should be able to find an embrodiery/ logo place

I am also local to this shop and have had to buy uniforms from there in the past. I can't buy stuff from Asda or Tesco etc, as the colour scheme is just not stocked anywhere.
The sports/ trophy shop mentioned by a pp now stocks our school uniform (even though the school is still not listed on their website.) Maybe you can call them in the morning and ask if they have what you need.

I'll do that Dr, thanks.

I'll be speaking with the head though, I know the logos aren't compulsory and I'll be getting what I need from asda/tesco but for future years I want to know if they'll be changing stockists.

Good you can go elsewhere and not worry about it If you were concerned about im sure other parents are too and will take their custom elsewhere.

I hope the head is going to be making it clear to all the parents that they have a choice. I bet lots of people won't know.

It would be even better if they didn't use the first shop at all

The original shop is still the only one listed on the schools website so I don't think many of the parents will know. I'll suggest they change it I think, I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one not wanting to shop there.
