To take his new toothbrush to work with a little ribbon round it

DP's old toothbrush was losing its bristles so he asked if I could get a new one.

He then text me today 'remember my toothbrush'

He does work long hours, but he passes several shops on his way. I have now got a pack of toothbrushes from LIDL.

I got another text 'did you get me a toothbrush yet?'

I am tempted to walk to his work (less than a mile away) and present one of the brushes, tied with a little ribbon, to security and say it is an 'urgent delivery' for DP's name, and insist he is called down to collect it.

AIBU? And how much will I regret this.

I will admit to purchasing toothbrushes in bulk just so that we have some in.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 15/10/2015 18:44

I buy them from Primark, 75p for 5, so we always have fecking hundreds of them half used in every single bathroom spares.

Love the bouquet!

Is he nagging you about it Shock

Wink sometimes men can be like 2 year olds. Hope you got him a pink glittery one.

RJnomaaaaaargh · 15/10/2015 19:09

I'm now feeling inadequate as I don't have a stock of spare toothbrushes to hand Confused

tibbawyrots · 15/10/2015 19:13

I use an electric brush so always have 2 spare heads (dd uses one) OH prefers his 15p sainsburys basics one. I do stockpile toiletries though so always have everything in the cupboards. hoarder

I just tried to make a bouquet but the vase was too big so now they have all fallen deep inside it (next to no spatial awareness.)

Tibb I do have spares for a lot if my toiletries. Good old Boots 3 for 2. Grin My electric toothbrush has a pack of spare heads too. But no spare toothbrushes for DH and whoever else.

WaggleBee · 15/10/2015 21:13

I am Envy of the spare toothbrush people. I don't even need any but I'm still Envy

I'm so buying a couple tomorrow just so I can feel snugly organised next time someone needs one.

WaggleBee · 15/10/2015 21:14

Smugly!

Nanasueathome · 15/10/2015 21:16

So that's something else that MN has made me buy now
Will have to go out early in the morning and stock up on toothbrushes, just in case.......

dementedma · 15/10/2015 21:17

People have spare toothbrushes? We all have electric ones and but new heads when we need them. I'm impressed with people who are organised enough to have spare anything

TravellingHopefully12 · 15/10/2015 21:47

How many spares is it customary to have at any given time? (never had any spares until today and now they are all stuck in a narrow necked vase)

I occasionally buy them in a twin pack when I need a new one so then there's a spare, but I wouldn't say I have drawers full of spares that I offer to guests and passing tradesmen or anything.

Moln · 15/10/2015 21:54

In your situation I'd have bought a huge number of toothbrushes from LIDL and wrapped them up in a big box.

MajesticWhine · 15/10/2015 21:55

There is an algorithm based on family size, average usage, along with other factors such as electronic toothbrush ownership and whether certain partners could be arsed to buy their own toothbrush.

poocatcherchampion · 15/10/2015 22:39

I have lots of spares. I store them in the 50 shops within a 10 mile radius of my home. In case of a teeth brushing emergency so of those shops have agreed to remain open day and night.

WaggleBee · 15/10/2015 23:34

Now your just showing off Poocatcher

WaggleBee · 15/10/2015 23:34
