To be really cross with my neighbours....

Who are currently sat in their back garden in the hot tub with several of their house guests shouting at each other over the bubbles?!! My children are in bed asleep and j can hear them over our telly. It's not the first time. They do this several times a week. I just think it's totally inconsiderate! It's twenty to 10!!!!!

I'd go around and have a word, ask if they can keep the noise down. Our NDN has the very occasional party during the week and make a bit of noise but we're ok as it is very rare and they are great the rest of the time (and as they generally look like death warmed up the next day we always feel to guilty to say anything too! :D )

Every1KnowsJeffTheJerkOlantern · 13/10/2015 02:54

Smoke the buggers out! Grin

We've found a garden incinerator does magical things for an irritating noisy neighbour.

FastForward2 · 13/10/2015 03:13

9.40 is not that late to be talking but too late to be shouting. I would find that really irritating.
Your only option is to speak to them nicely and mention that its very loud in your garddn when the bubbles are on, could they refrain on school nights. Is it any quiter with bubbles off? Perhaps they dont realise how loud it is.

ChilliAndMint · 13/10/2015 10:24

I'd just pop over and ask them to pipe down as your children are trying to sleep.

If this fails I would contact the local authority.

steppemum · 13/10/2015 10:35

Ok, (dons hard hat)

I am going against the flow here. I think that until 10 it is not unreasonable to use your garden, chatting with friends.

Many a summer BBQ is still going on at 10 for example.

After 10 I would expect people to turn the noise down/go inside.

SoupDragon · 13/10/2015 10:39

I'm with steppemum This one thing doesn't sound at all unreasonable.

I bet your children annoy them at times.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 13/10/2015 11:59

Grin at sex pond

OP, yabu it's not that late, but I can see why you find it annoying.

They are also bu for having the thing in the first place - have they not heard about all the unpleasant things you can catch from them?!

WeAllFloat · 13/10/2015 12:09

Id throw a shit in it. And follow up with an anonymous note saying you will shit in it until they learn respect. But, I'm a known bitch about stuff like this, I love revenge and have no interest at all in maintaining peace, or moral high grounds. Join meeeeeeee!

Chattymummyhere · 13/10/2015 12:45

Just ask them to keep it down. We have a hot tub and honestly I wouldn't recommend throwing random things into it as they will just get it fixed and if they can prove its you, you will of committed a criminal offence.

If they don't keep it down start a report to environmental health for noise they will then decide if it's too bad or not, I can't see them being out much more as winter hits in and depending on if they have the inflatable type or proper type it will need to be taken down once it hits a certain temp or it will break away.

hypermum1 · 13/10/2015 14:04

Thanks all. Some interesting and somewhat extreme suggestions here! I have had a word and it was all pleasant. Like I say they are nice lads and Dont realise how loud it can get!! Fingers crossed we can all nice forward happily! Until we can move that is!!

Glad it turned out OK (ish).

hypermum1 · 14/10/2015 20:25

Well we ll see as they are out there again now!!!!!!

IguanaTail · 15/10/2015 06:49

That really takes the piss so late and so regularly during the week. Other neighbours must be annoyed too, surely?

HoggleHoggle · 15/10/2015 13:22

This sounds like my bloody nightmare. You are being much calmer than I would be...a few nights every week is way too much in my opinion.

mileend2bermondsey · 15/10/2015 13:29

How dare they have the audacity to enjoy theirseleves in their own backyard. How loud can a couple of lads talking be? Not as load as your kids playing/screaming/crying I should imagine.

WeAllFloat · 15/10/2015 15:56

Ahhh, the obligatory post from someone who has never suffered the issues faced by the op, but wades in telling her she is BU.
