In 5 years time will we still have enough GPs or junior doctors, who knows but from what I have read on here alone I dont think so.
You appear to be confusing "people yelling in echo chambers" with "reality".
You also appear to be assuming that, even if the teachers and doctors who claim they are going to get other jobs (a constant story in the media every year for the last thirty to my certain knowledge) did so, that people would think "I know, the Labour Party are just the people to fix this, after all, their negotiations with teachers and doctors were so successful last time".
Why is the ridiculous HS2 project going ahead when our existing railways badly need overhauling.
Because the last attempt to overhaul the WCML while it was in use was a complete and utter disaster, and to try to do the same work again would be (a) as much of a disaster and (b) cost more than building a new railway?
Alternatively, if you've got a low-risk plan to get more capacity on London to north of Birmingham for less than £30bn, tell ORR, because they're desperate for some good news. We need more capacity from London to Rugby/Stafford because that line is running at full capacity 18 hours a day six days a week. Building a new line is cheaper than upgrading the existing one. Making it HS-capable costs almost nothing extra. What's your alternative proposal? What is this "overhauling" of which you speak?
What is going to be done to address the housing crisis and sky high rents in London.
One might argue that one way to address housing costs in London would be to have fast, effective transport into the city from surrounding cities by, perhaps, clearing capacity on the railway to places like Milton Keynes. But apparently that's a ridiculous scheme...
