At an airport near you.

Feel like. Have just been ripped off, but DH says it is normal.

€5.25 for an apple and a Coke.

Refreshment prices airside ARE ridiculous, so yes it probably was the right price, but yes it is also a rip off.

I'd go somewhere like a books if I could, as their markups aren't as bad as cafes etc.

TheSpottedZebra · 06/10/2015 11:02

A Boots.

KinkyAfro · 06/10/2015 11:02

Presumably the prices were displayed so it was your choice to buy them?

It is a rip off though, we paid 20 euro 50 for 2 sandwiches and 1 bottle of drink in Pafos last week.

ouryve · 06/10/2015 11:04

For 50ml, that's a spectacular rip off. It's hardly more than a mouthful Wink

ouryve · 06/10/2015 11:05

It's hardly...

I don't think they sell tiny minature bottles of coke at my local airport.

A 500ml bottle,on the other hand, depends on whether at a shop or cafe type place in the airport. In the shop, about €3 I'd guess, maybe €3.50.

SecretNutellaFix · 06/10/2015 11:19

500ml bottle of coke - about £1.25
Apple- about 50p

£1.75 would be around €2.40-ish

ItchyArmpit · 06/10/2015 11:31

You are both right. It is a rip-off, and rip-offs are normal in airports. Hope you're going (or have been) somewhere nice.

SucculentsRock · 06/10/2015 11:43

We paid 5.50e for two 500ml bottles of coke at an airport yesterday.

LunchpackOfNotreDame · 06/10/2015 11:55

I remember when 500ml bottles of pop were under £1

those were the days!

Mari50 · 06/10/2015 11:58

It's an airport, you're a captive market and can't bring fluids with you! They can- and do- charge what they like.
It is extortionate. It's life. Not something I'd get my knickers in a twist about though.

We paid about a fiver for sandwiches & a drink at Heathrow & I thought that that was extortionate!

I usually buy in a Boots or Smiths as they don't seem to bad.

Don't live in UK so don't know what the prices are like compared to the same non airport outlets.

MaxPepsi · 06/10/2015 12:10

It is a rip off but I still think that sounds high.

It would be less than a fiver at my local 10mins from my house local airport. In fact I think it would be less than £4.
