charity shop plastic bags

I've just had two though the letterbox in the last week. If we are trying to reduce the number of plastic bags in circulation, should charities be allowed to do this? They are about 3 times the size of a supermarket bag and thicker. I do not throw out clothes etc more than every few months. I try an reuse them but not always. It must cost charities a lot to produce them and distribute. Surely people could collect them to use as and when needed.

I just chuck them out on the doorstep/driveway and they collect them on the due date.

Are they actually charity ones? A lot of the ones I seem to get are companies who earn money by recycling the clothes, but trick you into donating by giving a very small portion of the profits to charity.

a lot of them are not for charity, but even the ones that are NEVER get collected round here. I very rarely get rid of clothes, and when I do they are rags not reusable.

still, a free bin liner is a free bin liner.

They make wonderful bin liners :)

Another one who uses them for bin liners - no wasted plastic (I'd be putting something in the bin anyway) and saves me a few pennies.
