To use 2 diaries for 2016?

Multiple diaries and planners kinda household. Master month overview on kitchen wall (Dry wipe natch), ds' school and home planners/calendars etc etc

Normally I have been running a master 2 do list, daily to do lists and a planner that is transportable with key appointments/reminders.

This year I am seriously considering setting up a 2 calendar approach to organisation. An A4 time slotted diary for blocking out timeslots and the to do list/day and the normal A5 which fits in my bag as normal.

AIBU and just wanting to justify my need for pretty stationery? Or Could this actually help the organisation process and day structuring issue that plague the mahosive to do lists that I seem acquire?

And before anyone says it yes I know IABU for many people to be mentioning this in October BUT I already have 20 odd appointments for 2016 and they extend as far as August. I am already in danger of double booking myself Hmm so need to get organised already.

I use the Bullet Journal method. After putting printouts of the months at the very beginning, so I can pencil in appts, I then use the notebook as a journal and have a new page each week where I can list to do, to get, and more detail about each day's activity [eg addresses, names, numbers to call].

I have 16 different google calendars some of which are shared with my team or my family.

I don't understand why you wouldn't manage this electronically though.

No smart phone, and tbh wouldn't have a mobile if it wasn't for all the travelling I do. And just don't find either bullet journals or online calendars work for me. I have tried both methods on several occasions and diaries just work better for me.

I much prefer paper diaries as well. Doesn't rely on batteries and such :)

YANBU for using two as long as you are happy to spend time transferring info between the two when you need to. Just buy the pretty stationery Wink

If it isn't written in my paper diary it doesn't exist. I don't like these new fangled none pretty electronic diaries.

And you never have to justify pretty stationary

I'm back with a 2-section "Mum Diary" (cheap academic one from The Works) after struggling for a year to train myself to use Google Calendar and synching my phone. I have so many interlocking projects on the go which are mutually exclusive that I couldn't possibly share information between users.

I also get called back to projects 2 or 3 years later and need to access facts when my hardware/software might have been updated. With Filofax dating back 10 years I can do that. So it's back to the old pen and paper method.

I quite agree with needing a Diary in September for the following year, so Academic suits me. I've seen the Organised Mum calendars do 15 months too, but they're a bit cutesy for my tastes (Jolly stickers for bin night? No thank you!).

That "Bullet Journal" method looks great!

add on your phone, on your laptop, at work. Teenage son also adds his work =hours and social events
you can set reminders and edit events
we have three incderibly active sons, I couldnt possibly use anything else now
