They don't teach anything in schools.

I ask DS every day what he's been up to and he always says 'nothing'.

SurlyCue · 02/10/2015 11:05

Samcro · 02/10/2015 11:06

Another one whos DC does nothing all day.

ReallyTired · 02/10/2015 11:07
Grin

Lots of home educators take an automenous learning approach which can work with the right child.

HSMMaCM · 02/10/2015 11:24

My DD is doing a levels. The only things I've heard about this week are playing sleeping lions and having a story time. I don't think she's been taught anything since she was 4 Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 02/10/2015 11:26

definitely nothing all day here for ds.

dd has startted to learn stuff but did not learn anything for several years.

molyholy · 02/10/2015 11:28

My DD does nothing, plays with nobody and can't even remember what she had for lunch.

MimsyBorogroves · 02/10/2015 11:29

Mine does nothing of note. Unless grandad asks him, and then it's amazing the amount they do. Hmph.

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 02/10/2015 11:30

My daughter apparently gets stickers for doing nothing!!

2tired2bewitty · 02/10/2015 11:32

Dd only ever does "maths", which is an improvement from the "nothing" they did last year. There is always only "sweetcorn" for lunch.

My DD does nothing, plays with no one, sits on her own in class...me thinks she is learning the art of espionage Grin

AlmaMartyr · 02/10/2015 11:57

Glad mine aren't the only ones who do and learn nothing. The only thing DS remembers from school is what he imagines he had for lunch (he makes it up) and DD sees no-one, eats nothing, does nothing and learns nothing. Sometimes they get stickers for doing extra nothing.

MammaTJ · 02/10/2015 12:02

DS learns nothing too! I asked him to tell me one thing he had learnt yesterday and he replied 'Well, we don't really learn anything, we just have fun'. I'm fairly sure they are sneaking a bit of knowledge into his brain sometimes though.

TheSwallowingHandmaiden · 02/10/2015 12:05

I thought it was only Montessori schools where they do fuck all?

RainbowFlutterby · 02/10/2015 12:06

DS does stuff. He must do, because something's happened that he "can't remember" or "forgot".

May be the teachers are aliens and wipe the children's memories before they leave the building. Confused

Bluewombler2k · 02/10/2015 12:07

Mine also gets Dojo points for doing nothing, all he does is play Transformers all day and oh yes, he's very good as he eats raisins every lunchtime. Riiighhht! Seems to spend quite a lot of time using a black marker pen each day though, judging from his shirts

OrlandosGibbon · 02/10/2015 12:27

My son's reception class mostly learn about dinosaurs, apparently. Sometimes lunch. Once the answer was "thank you" and once "tidying up". When I ask what he had for lunch, that is usually dinosaurs too.

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/10/2015 12:30

I get "played with Friend and Friend's DSis."

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 02/10/2015 13:18

No, they should be educated, which means "to draw out", i.e. to draw out their potential. They should not be trained as the government seems to think they should be.

My dd also does nothing at school most day. Also everyone is consistently "fine".

Sallyhasleftthebuilding · 02/10/2015 13:21

When DD grows up she wants to stay home and do nothing like Mommy .. so shes learning to do nothing at school...

FluffyNinja · 02/10/2015 13:27

My DS apparently does nothing at school and definitely doesn't eat lunch (it's virtually always untouched when it comes home) but he seems very tired by the end of the week. I think Rainbow's Alien suggestion is probably correct. Shock

SexNamesRFab · 02/10/2015 13:29

DD2 had just started primary school. Nobody plays with her all day and, worse than that, nobody is kind to her either - not even the teachers. At lunch time they leave her locked in the classroom with an empty tray while the rest if the class go eat.

Luckily I have DD1 to spy on her and on more than one occasion she's been spotted in the dinner hall eating chicken curry and ice cream, while surrounded on all sides by her many friends from nursery Grin

bialystockandbloom · 02/10/2015 13:33

Dd never plays with anyone, and ds regularly has his minuscule lunch thrown on the floor by the teachers.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 02/10/2015 14:01

My DS did at least have lunch all through primary - and would tell me what they had for pudding - sponge and chocolate custard a favourite. Now he has the odd band practice too. Things are looking up!
