About the egg advert? (lighthearted)

An advert for eggs is coming up at the top of my mn page. It says "eggs, a great weaning food".

There is a picture of a baby being fed eggs with a spoon, held by unseen adult. WITH A SPOON, PEOPLE! (Unintentional Alan Rickman in Robin Hood moment)

This parent is not baby led weaning! He/ she has not even got the baby to cook and prepare the eggs him/herself .... We should stage a massive blw-in at their headquarters.

(Disclaimer- I did blw DS, because he basically believes in baby led life, and won't have it any other way. DD preferred the food FAST. Sorry for the capitals)

How do you know the baby hasn't led the parent into spoonfeeding them?
Not every baby wants to pick food up in their hands.

Baby led spooning ?

anklebitersmum · 02/10/2015 02:38

isn't baby led spooning when they fall asleep on you and you end up succumbing to a nap too?

jobrum · 02/10/2015 04:00

I love the adverts, the baby looks so cheerful!

I'm blw my daughter and have been handing her a spoon of food or putting it on her tray to pick up only when she wants a spoonful of food. Then she realised that if she just opened her mouth and waited for me to pop the spoon in there she could also have a piece of finger food in each hand. Greedy baby!

TheOriginalWinkly · 02/10/2015 05:13

There are two adverts on my page at the same time. The spoon fed baby is clearly about to either turn his head at the last second, leaving an eggy smear over his cheek, and finger food baby is about to rub it in his hair then fire it halfway across the kitchen.

Goats cheese frittatas? Pfft. DD was making her own goats cheese...

AwfulBeryl · 02/10/2015 16:58

The babies look far too lean to have actually eaten anything Grin

My dts were not satisfied with goat cheese frittata, so they made curried goat instead. Slaughtered the goat themselves they did.

Aww cute AwfulBeryl. Anyway can't linger, 15mo DD is hosting the chef's table at Le Gavroche tonight. We know she o ly has 2 Michelin stars but it's so good to have something to work towards, don't you agree? Grin

kickassangel · 02/10/2015 18:23

In my house blw was what happened when I put the food down, then DD didn't have the manners to wait until I'd got her drink, but just dived straight in there. Sometimes literally, face first.

Is face fed weaning a 'thing'?

Cloppysow · 02/10/2015 18:29

My children ran a goat farm together by the time the eldest was 2 and the youngest was 6 months.

AwfulBeryl · 03/10/2015 15:18
