Specifically DS's - my Mum is on holiday and DH unreachable at work, so nobody else to run my thought process past:

I dropped him in the playground Blush about an hour ago. Twisted my ankle in a pothole and he fell from chest height onto those soft(ish) tile things that have under play equipment. Whacked onto his back and the back of his head. He was very upset for ten mins but largely then distracted by dogs and swings. No lumps or bumps. He has been grizzly since though and has now fallen asleep on the boob, about 45 mins before his usual bedtime. Should I put this down to a big shock and upset being very tiring, or should I be panicking this is head-injury induced sleepiness? He's 14 months.

I'm inclined to go with the former but just want an external view!

Me personally. I'd want him checked.

Reallybadday · 26/09/2015 17:50

Please please call 111 for advice right now. This could well just be that he's tired himself out but I wouldn't take the risk with a head bump.

KitKat1985 · 26/09/2015 17:51

I'd phone 111 for advice, but I'm fairly confident they will tell you to go to A&E to be checked out.

Thebirdsneedseeds · 26/09/2015 17:51

I'd err on the side of caution. Can you wake him? Either that or watch him very carefully as he sleeps. Yeah, actually I'd maybe wake him and play with him for an hour or so to be sure he's alright. See what everyone else says....but that's a fair height.

Flowers what a horrible accident. Are you ok?

FattyNinjaOwl · 26/09/2015 17:52

I'm sure he will be fine. Just keep an eye on him, and make sure there's no vomiting and he will be right as rain after a kip. My DD literally jumped off the couch head first onto laminate flooring when not much older and was fine.

lljkk · 26/09/2015 17:53

I wouldn't see anybody from what OP has said Just cuddles & apologies.

CesareBorgiasUnicornMask · 26/09/2015 17:57

I did wake him but he was very cross. He's often like that if he's woken from a nap though. And he was up early today so probably due to be tired sooner rather than later. I'm sitting holding g him atm. He seems to be sleeping Normally. Might watch for a while longer then call 111. I feel so guilty though, and my ankle's ballooned right up Sad.

Go to a an de. He's probably fine but is it worth the risk?

addictedtosugar · 26/09/2015 18:11

The wake message, is more make sure they are reusable, so if you move him in his sleep, does he snuggle back to a comfortable position, or stay still? It's the second you need to be worried about.

No vomiting or unconsciousness, and a&e are unlikely to do much more than you.
