That 'Spread it like it's peanut butter jelly' song. My 3 year old loves it. Mortifying.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 22/09/2015 18:34

I had a word with school because the supervisor at lunchtime was allowing a cd with Blurred Lines to be played over lunch in the dining hall. I was not happy. It was taken out of the pile of CDs.

ToTheGups · 22/09/2015 20:07

Thanks Gently that went right over my head.

SmokingGun · 22/09/2015 20:12

My DB used to constantly sing "my anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hun" when he was little and of course I didn't encourage him at all Grin

ForChina · 22/09/2015 20:12

Ew I wouldn't like that at all. My kids do listen to lyrics and would wonder why the creepy-sounding man was singing 'let me lick you up and down/I wanna make your body scream/I wanna be your nasty man etc. Yuck. Inappropriate.

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 22/09/2015 20:35

Should I be worried that I clicked on the link and my dd ( 4 ) was singing? I've never heard it so wondering where she did Hmm no more kids parties! Don't worry about lyrics though. Dds dad is a singer in a quite successful heavy metal band with some shocking lyrics! When it comes on she just says oh that's my daddy. No repeating of it or questions. Yet.....

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 22/09/2015 20:36

Definitely need a name change now....

Prettyeyedpiratesmile · 22/09/2015 20:46

Geez the peanut butter jelly song Blush I was singing it in work the other day Grin

TeaAddict235 · 22/09/2015 21:01

was it during a yoga session OP? cos that would have been funny whilst doing the cat pose.

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 22/09/2015 21:06

tea Grin

Booyaka · 22/09/2015 22:53

Good lord! Did none of you people realise Peanut Butter Jelly was rude?? Hahaha.

Although on the plus side I'm glad it's quite subtle. Coz he was singing it at my 90 yo Gran this wkend and she would have had my guts for garters if she'd known what it meant.

Happfeet2911 · 22/09/2015 23:02

How the hell did we all survive, loosen up FGS ! It's just a song and if the kids are too young to understand it will go straight over their heads. It's part of growing up, sniggering over lyrics and working out what they mean.

SoupDragon · 23/09/2015 11:46

I tend to work on the basis that lyrics aren't rude unless obvious or someone tells me. Did you work it out for yourself?

ijustwannadance · 23/09/2015 11:53

Kids mostly have no idea. I remember the mn8 song 'i've got a little something for ya' being big when I was at school. And ebenezer good.
