Chris Moyles is back on breakfast radio - on X?? Was XFM.
I know loads of people on here don't like him but I used to love him and his team in the morning.
If I can ever find out the station number (been googling but my company seem to block radio stuff) I shall be tuning in (my car does not have digital) and I shall hope and pray for McFriday!!!
Welcome back Chris - I have missed you.

Ooooh I like Greg James too, basically I appear to be a Radio 1 fan, although not keen on the new middle of the day DJ (my radio's on constantly).

RedToothBrush · 22/09/2015 15:40

Moyles WAS very clear.

He blamed ONE person for a press release that no one else believes in.

AND

To prove that Radio X is not just for men, he played Girls Aloud.

So, to sum up, he played a shite record that would never have been played on XFM as its not the type of music it played to appease the Ladiez in a semi joke and expects us all to believe that the press release for a massive relaunch of that size wasn't shoved under the noses of several people. And if it was such a bad thing and not correct, is the person responsible out of a job, like the Manchester DJs who were treated shockingly and with such little notice? At best it was a deliberate PR stunt to get a bit of attention, but it seems it may have backfired a little.

If you buy into Moyles' rebuffal of the Man Station thing, then you really are bloody naïve and easily pleased.

Yes, I do want a public hanging. Ideally I'd like it to be Moyles, but yeah I would settle for the corporate tools who dreamt up the Man Station Idea. Not that I'm going to get either.

I'll just pray it all bombs tbh and Moyles is dropped like a hot potato when they realise he shouldn't have escaped the 1990s along with the likes of Menswear and Salad.

Sparklingbrook · 22/09/2015 15:41

I used to have to do a 40 mile round car trip in the afternoon and I started out just as the 'going home song' started.
Now I get to do 5 minutes each way.

Greg James seems a thoroughly nice bloke.

MrsTrentReznor · 22/09/2015 15:51

Dom is back with him. Grin
Love it, but music wise I was more of a team rock person. Gutted that went online only.
I ditched radio 1 the day grimmy took over. He's terrible!

Sparklingbrook · 22/09/2015 15:53

Excellent. Dom is back. Smile No Comedy Dave hopefully?

ShouldHavenotOf · 22/09/2015 16:02

I can't bear Grimshaw, Chris Evans plays awful music. I dabble with Absolute, but I'm not that keen. So I am very pleased about Chris Moyles and I will be tuning in tomorrow.

enjoyingscience · 22/09/2015 16:11

6 or 4 all the way. No adverts, no inane dribble, marvellous.

Sparklingbrook · 22/09/2015 16:12

I have tried them all. I can't find one I like. Sad So CM in the morning for me.

leccybill · 22/09/2015 16:15

I tried to tune in on 104.9 but couldn't pick it up. Is it a regional/London station? I'm in the north west.

I loved Chris and the team, Dom, Carrie, Aled etc Still miss them!

RebeccaCloud9 · 22/09/2015 16:18

I love Chris Moyles! Was so sad when he left and was replaced by the god awful and seemingly omnipresent Nick Bloody Grimshaw!

slug · 22/09/2015 16:46

XFM used to be the one thing that got me out of bed in the morning. Now that Chris "dirty whores" Moyles and his crew of sycophants in polluting the airwaves with his speculation about the next 16 year old whose virginity he wants to "take", I've got no option but to tune in to Radio 4.

It wasn't just one press release that announced Radio X for men only, it was all over their website in the weeks before the change and all over their facebook page too

LittleRedSparkle · 22/09/2015 16:50

I cant stand Chris Moyles, overbearing shouty bully - I actually really enjoyed the Never Mind the Buzzcocks that he walked off1

Sparklingbrook · 22/09/2015 17:32

I don't remember CM storming off NMTB.

I am going to try and tune in tomorrow. See what it's like.

MyIronLung · 22/09/2015 18:26

Does anyone remember when talk sport was just talk radio? I used to love listening to Tommy Boyd.
I often think about this and feel sad that it's no more Sad

hellsbellsmelons · 23/09/2015 08:59

I'm going to guess that you love Vaughan too
God NO - I proper hate him. Can't stand his voice or anything about him.
Sorry Johnny!

Well I listened for a bit this morning.
My DAB radio in the kitchen says XFM is off air so could only listen in the car.
I still like Chris and Dom and it was OK. Decent music (I'm an Indie Rock chick) and I think they will find their feet soon enough.
We'll see.

Tommy Boyd. That's a blast from the past. I vaguely remember him doing a phone in show in the afternoon that was v entertaining.

Jonny Vaughan i only remember from the Big Breakfast with the awful DVO.

Listening to CM now on the laptop. it's so nice to hear him and Dom again. Smile

UterusUterusGhali · 23/09/2015 09:26

I did love Dom.

What happened between CM & CD?
Did CM shag Dave's wife or something?

SorryCantBeArsed · 23/09/2015 09:26

I gave up on Radio 1 after Chris left. I liked Veron and Fearn too but not much else, did struggle with some of the music but stuck it out because of them. At 48 I can't really find a radio station that fits. I hate all the bloody adverts, especially the car ones with speed talking T&C's at the end , is anyone really that dim to think they wouldn't have to pay? I do like Chris Evans but oh Lordy the music! There's only about two new songs an hour and the rest seem to span the last four decades. Mmm me thinks I'm turning grumpy

Sparklingbrook · 23/09/2015 09:27

Not sure about 'shag' but there was something happening allegedly. CD was awful though.

I used to love it when Rachel and Carrie were on.

hellsbellsmelons · 23/09/2015 09:30

I hear you sorry.
I really like Chris Evans but the music is dire.
Had a conversation over the weekend and we have decided they need a radio 1.5!!!
Something in between radio 1 and 2.
Heart is OK but it's the same music over and over.
Capital is getting on my nerves with the repeat loop of songs. Although I love Dave Berry.
I'm a real station changer.
When I've had enough of the music all sounding the same I turn to BBC 3 counties radio (yep, I really do!)

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 23/09/2015 09:32

I think a new radio station Radio 1.5 with the following

Chris Moyles all morning
Greg James all afternoon.

Smile
Sparklingbrook · 23/09/2015 09:32

Oh yikes. Vernon Kay is now on talking to CM. Angry Why???!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 23/09/2015 09:44

I'd much rather listen to Chris Evans than Chris Moyles. At a push, I'd even rather listen to Grimshaw than Chris Moyles.

For some reason, my car refused to play any BBC radio stations for about 2 weeks - I actually enjoyed some of the local stations so now that X has brought back CM and declared itself all-male* Hmm I'll be replacing Xfm with one of my local stations on my settings.

*yy other disclaimers are available to say the sexist relaunch was all a big multi-pound advertising campaign mistake

Sparklingbrook · 23/09/2015 09:47

I have had CM on for about half an hour now. I have laughed out loud and I have understood things he is talking about, and quite liked the music.

Only Vernon is annoying me.

molyholy · 23/09/2015 09:48

You're all mad Grin Surely everyone knows Absolute 80's no repeat work day choons are the only thing to get you through the day. Not much jibber jabber from the dj's, they just get on with it.
