Poor customer service yesterday when trying to return something and walking through their store yesterday was like walking through a jumble sale.

I think they're only trading off a good name now not adding to it.

Their clothes are beyond awful. I have no idea who they're trying to appeal to. Just as you think an item is looking good, they add a row of ruffles, or a lace frill. I really don't understand why they don't do what I always used to think they stood for (appreciate this is a personal "what I always thought' but still...), which was good quality basics, or even luxurious things, so lovely quality (but fucking plain!) jumpers in a range of colours and styles and qualities ( so say black/white/beige/red/navy in v/crew/boat neck and cotton/wool/cashmere). Food is amazing, and actually good value if you buy basics IMO rather than ready meals but rest of it is shite. It is no surprise to me they are doing badly. Surely it's not hard, though? You either stick to good quality basics, or follow fashion, or have a halfway house! M&s don't seem to follow any of these, just go with shite, unfashionable, poor quality clothes which look awful. And don't even get me started on their labels! I've got clothes from Diane von furstenberg to primark and everywhere in between, but never found anywhere with labels that irritate so damn much, I have no idea what they do to their labels to make them so bloody irritating!
