To think Paloma Faith was a bad choice to sing World In Union?

I love her songs, I love World in Union but the 2 don't mix- her voice isn't powerful enough.

OMG I had no idea it was her - that explains it! The bits round the ads are particularly god awful. Swooping for notes is a no-no in singing. I have long thought Ms Faith is a terrible singer and her singing is getting more and more mannered.

MrsRoss - I really don't see that as disrespectful to Roger Daltrey and I heard the show; it was a light-hearted comment.

It is dire. The online petition has about 7000 signatures.

And don't start me on he new Bond theme tune.

Even if Sam Smith isn't your cup of tea, he's a billion times better than Ms Faith.

Oh well let's get back to some well enacitated opera singer type that is instantly forgettable.
Mmm ..still think she makes it sound hard and interesting. In a minority though which means I'm probably right.

I normally like her, 'only love' is one of my favourite songs this year but I have to agree she has murdered 'world In Union' . Why the hell didn't they get Adele to sing it, she has the power and street cred, Paloma just sounds as if she is in pain.

wowfudge: you could hear the papers being shuffled & tension in Chris's voice as he stepped in to defuse! Whether it was meant light-heartedly or not, the woman has no respect for anyone else and seems not to notice that she's a patronising sow. Still. I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, just adding fuel to the anti-PF fire I suppose!

Revealall - you don't have to be a forgettable opera singer type to enunciate properly - or to sing properly, for that matter. You just have to have a bit of musical skill - which PF may have (I haven't heard anything else of hers), but if she does have any musicianship or skill, it is completely absent from this performance.
