Not to cut up apples for an 8 year old

Would you/ do you? There is no reason he can't eat them whole, he just doesn't want to, and he eats about 4 a day (can't pre cut them as brown apple is as bad or worse than uncut apple...). I suggested he cut them himself, as he's quite capable of and eager to chop and peel vegetables for meals and does so several times a week minimum, but he quarters them then calls me to cut out the core, as apparently that is a high risk operation ... Confused

Aha, if you are abroad then apples can be a lot cheaper. We used to buy a box full at a time straight from the farmer when we lived in the U.S. - they tested soooo apple'y Wink. Waitrose apples seen very expensive in comparison

Waitrosse everything are expensive though Annie :o We were in the UK recently and I bought bags of 10-12 small apples for a pound a bag in Asda... Some things are cheaper here though - fruit is in season but out of season or imported fruit and veg is either almost impossible to find or very expensive (as it should be really, but it took some adjusting to in terns of cooking initially). Luckily bananas break this rule (due to volume I expect) or we'd break the bank on bananas...
