Conservative HQ sent me this earlier. I thought that was quite a restrained and reasonable response, but I've since heard that he wants to make swiping left on Tinder compulsory. WIBU to swipe right even if someone is not wearing a vest?

I don't know how Cameron is going to cope at PMQs when his customary 'hilarious' put-downs are greeted with Corbyn's 'we don't do personal attacks' face. He might have to actually answer a question.

I'm a farmer and I looked up Corbyn's rural policy. It's completely common sense and sympathetic to people struggling in the rural community.
Gove's on Andrew Marr at the moment. He's trying to tone down the hysterical reaction of yesterday. 'A threat to national security'

Sorry but what the heck does that meanConfused

My inbox had an email from 'Sophie' at the Labour party thanking me for my support in a message that started 'Dear Comrade' Smile it gave me a warm glow. Also I then tidied it away so I didn't have 11 million emails residing in there with it [smug inbox emoticon].

they seem to be very very very quiet at the moment

Have a heart - there's only 8 of them

Mistigri · 13/09/2015 09:46

Christ, it comes to something when Gove is sent out as the "voice of reason* to try to make out that the Tories aren't panicking Grin

(In fairness, I'm kind of coming round to Gove - don't shoot me, but he is doing a reasonable job in his new role and he's a bit more "one nation" than most of the cabinet).

Mistigri · 13/09/2015 09:48

Didn't the last election tell us that people have moved away from the middle ground though ego? The parties that did best in terms of winning new votes (if not seats) were all some distance from the centre.

What's wrong with you people? The whole point of gmail is that you never have to delete anything. Deleting emails is for old people. It's the modern equivalent of amswering your phone by quoting your telephone number.

That picture in the op is hilarious 'A threat to our security eh.? '
Is he the new Che Guevara ?
Jeremy Corbyn beanies, nappy sacks and bike stickers for all!

Inkanta · 13/09/2015 10:07

The DM looks absolutely stupid this morning - the lengths they are going to malign Corbyn.

Inkanta · 13/09/2015 10:11

What's ironic is that Corbyn has obvious integrity and is genuinely a virtuous character. Maybe that's what rattles the far right press. How can they respond to that.

SheGotAllDaMoves · 13/09/2015 10:15

No one need be scared of JC.

His views on unilateral disarmament will never make it into a manifesto. He will not stand in the scheduled general election.

His task, as he sees it, it to reform the Labour Party.

RoboticSealpup · 13/09/2015 10:21

I'm so worried. He might even make housing and transport affordable.

latebreakfast · 13/09/2015 10:21

He plans to heavily increase taxes for "the rich". This will most likely translate to an increase in the 40p rate of tax to (say) 80p - ie for anybody earning over about £40K.

Can't see how he'd fund everything he wants to do otherwise - certainly not by taxing the super-rich who are very efficient at not paying tax.

sugar21 · 13/09/2015 10:29

I'm waiting for Corbyn to tear slimy Dave to shreds at PMQs, that will be interesting. At least Corbyn answers a question rather than dodge the issue.
Let's see if slimy Dave squirms his way out of the inevitable backlashes of tax credit cuts in April and let's see how Corbyn addresses that issue.
Haven't seen the Daily Fail today, there really isn't any need to read that rag. I suspect they are doing a hatchet job based on lies as ever.
That pic made me laugh, threat to security indeed. How about the Tories cutting down our Army Navy and RAF, I would say that is more of a tnreat

Inkanta · 13/09/2015 10:36

' I don't know how Cameron is going to cope at PMQs when his customary 'hilarious' put-downs are greeted with Corbyn's 'we don't do personal attacks' face.'

I know. The whole Eton boy culture in there will be challenged. Thank God.

NoahVale · 13/09/2015 10:40

I had an email from Jeremy Corbyn himself, Grin with a link to put a question to David Cameron, I did respond about needing more doctors and nurses and admin staff, for the NHS. and also about not cutting the grant for university
both of these affect me so Go Jeremy!

BIWI · 13/09/2015 10:45

I love the way the Tories keep trying to say that Corbyn's victory is the best thing to happen to the conservatives - but then rush this stuff out immediately! Not worried at all, are they? Grin

Ubik1 · 13/09/2015 10:52

arms sales are a big part of our economy aren't they?

They hold these trade shows all the time.
Why the concern now?

drivingmisspotty · 13/09/2015 11:52

ubik1 actually the arms trade is heavily subsidised and the protests at the arms fairs have been going on for many years. When I was at uni a decade ago I had friends who went to protest at the arms fair and it wasn't a new thing then.

HamaTime · 13/09/2015 12:14

Protests at arms fairs have been going on for decades, it's not a brand new concern. The reason I brought it up is the bare faced cheek in calling someone a security threat at the exact same time as selling arms to murderous regimes. This government sell arms to people on it's own list of dodgy fuckers. We sell arms to North Korea FFS. They signed off on an export licence for nerve gas ingredients for Assad and then get all 'saddened' when Syrian civilians are gassed.
We also spend a lot (£760million a year?) on subsidising the arms trade, but subsidising housing or properly funding the NHS or education is somehow a feckless luxury.

Samcro · 13/09/2015 12:16

im not scared. I am scared shitless of DC and his cronies and their hatred for the disabled.
hopefuly JC will stop DC shutting down debate by *
