Not sure why, it really grates on me and think we will be hearing a lot more now her close friend is the labour leader.

Ungooglable said: By that logic, are we all to ignore Donald Trump's ridiculous hair, because we need to criticise everything else about him in order of importance before we get to the frivolous?

I think with Trump, there is so much wrong with him that it's difficult to know where to start; his hair probably gets the worst of it as it's so obvious :)

I know, imagine interviewing him, and thinking "Don't look at the hair, don't look at the hair..." the whole time.

But the thing is, someone starting a thread saying his hair is annoying wouldn't be told off for doing so

JanetBlyton · 12/09/2015 15:25

No thread about Corbyn's voice. Of course not. He's male. A penis makes them a God above all criticism of voice or appearance.

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 16:01

Or maybe he hasn't got an annoying voice Hmm

Like I said, there are plenty of male examples where people have criticized their physical appearance. But as soon as someone dares mention something about DA, it becomes misogynistic?

So you can't criticize anything about any woman? What a wonderful world full of peace and love you must all live in!

Rufusgy · 12/09/2015 16:03

sanctimonious and patronising

Yes yes yes that's it!

Hmm at bringing in sexism for being critical of some ones voice BiscuitWine

I can't stand her.
People can't help the voice they were born with, but they can do a lot about the way they speak to people and what they say.
I find her hypocritical, patronising and incredibly lacking in self awareness or any sense of irony.

I can feel my blood pressure rising the moment I hear her condescending, breathy tones emanating from the radio or TV.

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 16:23

You've got to love MN.

OP: Oh I can't stand that Hilary Jones' hair.

MN: HOW DARE you criticize a woman, have you nothing else to comment on other than her appearance, what about all her hard work. If she had a PENIS you wouldn't dare say that. The MISOGYNY on this thread is appalling!

OP: Actually I meant Hilary Jones the man.

MN: Oh that's fine then, as you were!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 12/09/2015 16:33

I actually dont like Hilary Jones' hair...am willing to stand up and be counted!

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 16:38

Now I feel bad about Hilary Jones. No offence Hilary, I'm sure you have lovely hair, sorry for bringing your name into this !!!!!!!!

(not sorry to Donald Trump though, he deserves it)

I actually don't like Dianne Abbot's hair. But I daren't say it on this thread!!!

hibbleddible · 12/09/2015 17:24

I find her grating full stop.

Her trying to bring in the race card to justify her son going to private school was a particular low moment.

Clawdy · 12/09/2015 17:29

"A penis makes them a God above all criticism of voice or appearance." Bet Ed Miliband really agrees with that.Hmm

TSSDNCOP · 12/09/2015 17:39

You are absolutely right to criticise Donald's hair. It is the least preposterous and offensive thing about him though.

stripytees · 12/09/2015 17:53

Those crying misogyny have clearly forgotten what people used to say about Ed Milliband's voice and appearance.

YANBU OP, I've always found her voice and way of speaking extremely grating too.

BrandNewAndImproved · 12/09/2015 18:01

I like her, and we all slag of David Beckhams high pitched annoying voice.

I also get why she sent her ds to private school and the comment about black parenting. If you don't have black children and you don't understand the social problems that they are statistically more likely to fall in then look it up.

Mrsmorton · 12/09/2015 18:04

She's a patronising, hypocritical knob.
Yes her voice is annoying but if she wasn't a PHK, I'd forgive her for the voice.

derxa · 12/09/2015 18:25

She is a PHk but good for comedy value. I believe she has some principles buried deep inside her.

FaceFullOfFilleronthe45 · 12/09/2015 18:26

Not at all. It has an annoying whiny and patronising quality about it.

apricotdanish · 12/09/2015 20:07

Was actually thinking, when listening to her today how much I like her voice. Conversely when I heard Priti Patel today, who was also talking about the leadership result, I found her voice deeply irritating and very affected.

AyeAmarok · 12/09/2015 20:16

Agree re Priti Panel.

And for the #callyourselfafeminist mob, I love many female politicians - Theresa May, Emily Thornberry, Nicolas Sturgeon, Amber Rudd, Stella Creasy, Harriet Herman etc etc.

I loathe MANY more male politicians. So many I couldn't even begin to list them all.

So I'm not being anti feminist hating Diana Abott and her lego hair

NuffSaidSam · 12/09/2015 20:38

I had to mute the TV earlier when she was on talking about Corbyn because her voice is so bloody irritating. Then I had to do the same when Ed Miliband came on.

One man, one woman. One black, one white.

They're both straight though so maybe my voice hatred is heterophobic?

Hang on, I don't like Alan Carr's voice either! Phew!
