Can't bloody believe it .. I'm in full flow today after an 8 month (or could be 9 - I can't really remember) pause. My periods were up and down a lot before the long gap, but this time I really thought that it was over for good. I've been ever so smug about it, thinking 'is that all there is to it? your periods just stop?', feeling pleased that I hadn't had any bothersome symptoms Blush. Looks like I got that wrong.

Anyone else have this happen to them??

I guess it's quite common, as I think the advice is that you haven't really been through the menopause until you've had no periods for a year?? Looks like I'm back to square one with that one .. Angry

I am agreeing with pp. After that length of time getting checked out would be wise. I was investigated for bleeding after a long gap. All was fine and the d&c they did at the same time as the explorations solved everything.

Hate to tell you but DM continued till she was 70. Beautiful skin and no osteoporosis.

I am going to be a giant turtle when reincarnated. Lay the eggs in nice warm sand then bugger off into clear blue water.

I'm 51 and still going strong (daily mail sad face), I did miss one last year and got hopeful but no, back they came. I am very overweight though and wondered if that was anything to do with why they just won't stop!

Well, Mother Nature decided to pay me back for complaining yesterday, guess what happened today. I'll be 51 in a few weeks, surely I've earned a break by now!

Oh god don't say that OP. I'm 52, no period this year, so 9 months under my belt. If I start again now I'll kill myself.
