To hate the 1st trimester

Bleurgh - constantly feeling sick and dizzy and tired. Don't want everyone to know about pregnancy so have to hide the rubbishness.
I am of course so pleased and thankful to be able to have babies but this does not negate the yuckiness Sad.
And the worst part is I have done this twice before and should have remembered just how bad it is!

YANBU. The second trimester is much better.

Best not to think about the third just at the moment

YADDDNBU. I'm about 14 weeks (dating scan tomorrow!) so just coming out of the other side. It's so depressing!

Hairballs · 08/09/2015 14:35

It is very, very hard. I found it even more horrific during my third pregnancy (second resulted in MC) as I had DS to take care of. What I would have given to hibernate until 14 weeks...

However, as you say, I am extremely grateful for the fact that I'm now pregnant with a healthy baby and would quite happily suffer the comparatively minor irritations of early pregnancy any day rather than experience some of the fertility or pregnancy struggles I have known of / read about.

Hope you feel brighter soon.

You're lucky, with both the last 2 I had heartburn that made me throw up right through pregnancy. Envy

I am at 23 weeks. Felt sick since 6 weeks and have had hyperemesis since 11 weeks. The second trimester isn't always all it's cracked up to be either Sad

Yadnbu! I'm 10 weeks and the nausea is not quite as bad now bit feel sooo tired. I'm sure it wasn't this bad with ds1. Sick of feeling sick!

sleepy11 · 08/09/2015 14:43

Hairballs yes - having existing children does complicate it! My DD probably watches far too much tv at the moment whilst I need to lie on the sofa! Thank god DS is kept occupied at school!
I totally did not appreciate all the napping opportunities when I was having my 1st DC!

Yep, I'm with you. Still felt very tired / sick at 16 weeks but seem to be coming out of it now. Are you taking medication for it?

kungfupannda · 08/09/2015 15:21

Yes, it's grim. 8.5 weeks here - number 3. It's far worse this time round, particularly the chronic tiredness. I don't like any of it to be honest (except the end result obviously) but the first 14 weeks or so are just mind-numbingly unpleasant.

I've just told got on and told the people who are around me a lot, so they're not wondering why I've turned into a bad-tempered, unproductive zombie.
