How did you fit exercise into your daily life?

Did you follow a particular diet or did you just cut back?

What did you snack on?

Oh yes, cooking all meals from scratch rather than use jarred sauces etc. I've even made my own chicken nuggets with the dds and then oven baked them. It was actually quite fun! And now it's autumn, it's soup season Smile

Haven't read the whole thread, but I managed through fasting.

It's changed my life!

Pop over to the 5:2 fasting thread on here. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. It's much easier than any other eating plan I've followed and it's worked for loads of people who had given up of ever being a healthy weight.

And it's free! Grin

Make sure you eat proper meals then you won't get such an urge to snack. I found I often skipped breakfast or lunch then just grabbed whatever was handy when I realised I was hungry.

If you don't mind ready meals then stock up on those, otherwise make extra of your evening meal and have that for lunch the next day or freeze portions for the future.

Breakfast - scrambled egg or beans on toast don't take long to make.

When smaller I used to put them both in jogger trailer and run/ fast walk 5-10 miles a day. Now they are 4 and 5 they cycle and I run or cycle. In between I carried youngest in carrier and walked miles whilst elder cycled

I walk my dogs in the morning and afternoon for 45-60 minutes each walk. In the evening dh will watch Dd whilst I go to the gym, I don't buy chocolate to avoid the temptation of it and just generally eat healthy. I cut out crisps and chocolate a few months ago and to be honest I don't miss them.

Just reading all of the different replies OP, and seeing all of the different things that have worked for different people. I absolutely love 5:2 but have friends who have hated it. Similarly I hated Cambridge and WeightWatchers (so relentless!) but have friends who have enjoyed and done well with these. It reminded me that there was a good programme on (towards the end of last year?) about finding the right diet for you - looking at people's natural eating patterns and then putting them on to diets accordingly. I'll have a search about on the internet and see if I can find its name - might be worth a watch? It clearly classified me as a 5:2 type and was right.

Breastfeeding sadly didn't help me and I did it for 5 years (2 kids)

I did the Couch to 5k, I ran early in the morning before husband went to work. It was tough, but it worked. I did 3 months of Weight Watchers and then went on to myfitnesspal.

There's no secret, TBH. Eat less, move more! But if you have a young baby and are breastfeeding, cut yourself a bit of slack. You'll be knackered and drained. Just try to eat healthily.

Reubs15 · 06/09/2015 10:43

Breastfeeding and I take my baby for qn hours brisk walk every day. I use myfitness app to track calories/exercise. I also do aerobics whilst baby naps or yoga. Don't snack or choose fruit or things like carrot sticks or rice cakes etc. Eat food which keeps you fuller longer. Have occasional treats though. If you deny yourself of everything all the time you'll fail. Everything in moderation!

Count calories (I used WW points) and ensure you are eating less calories than before. Then you will lose weight.

I did use to gym crèche and exercised, but I don't think that is what lost me the weight, I think it was the diet changes.

Suggest not having fattening snacks in the house. Carrot sticks are your friend.
