I've got a bra I only got in June and the wire is now poking out. WIBU to return it as faulty? I think 3 months is
A ridiculous length of time for this to happen in. What do you think?

Have you machine washed it? They may ask this. I don't think you're meant to.

i machine wash all my bras and sometimes this does happen

LittleRedSparkle · 05/09/2015 14:46

of course it is faulty - mine go in the machine all the time and the wires dont come out

sykadelic · 05/09/2015 14:47

My underwire snapped in around 3 months. I asked about returning it and was told it was a 60 day policy, which is ridiculous.

So YANBU to try, but be prepared to just sew the damn thing yourself.

letmehaveyoursoul · 05/09/2015 18:35

60 days?! That's crazy. They still stock the bra though, I'll give it a try.

maybe you're wearing the wrong size which has made the pressure all wrong and the wire pop out?

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 05/09/2015 18:52

Where did you buy it? Have you washed it in accordance with the label?

letmehaveyoursoul · 05/09/2015 21:25

I'm wearing the correct size. Yup. Washed in accordance with the label.

Sale of Goods Act states that an item should be fit for purpose for a 'reasonable' length of time - I'd say it ought to last longer than 3 months!
DH took some jeans back to Next about 9 months after buying as the crotch seam split - they didn't even question replacing them Smile

JuJuMun69 · 06/09/2015 17:25

Nope, wouldnt take it back after 3 months.

VikingLady · 06/09/2015 19:12

I'd take it back. It's not "fit for purpose".

But then I also took half a dozen bras back to Debenhams a few years ago because the straps were coming apart and the glue inside was irritating my shoulder. Some were new, others were months old. They had no problem exchanging them when I explained and showed them the problem.

Sighing · 06/09/2015 20:16

Bras should be replaced every three months. So I'd complain, but not expect much.

DingbatsFur · 06/09/2015 20:18

Every 3 months??? Really??
I'd take it back.

RomComPhooey · 06/09/2015 20:20

If it's Bravissimo, they are quite good about replacing bras where the wire has escaped. As they can look you up on their system, they will be able to work out how old the bra is. I've been in before in my lunch break with the underwire having escaped during the morning at work & left in a new bra, leaving the other one behind - a huge relief, as it is tricky poking the wire back surreptitiously at work.

alleypalley · 06/09/2015 20:57

3 months, that's ridiculous. Assuming most people have at least 2 bras, (I have 5 that I wear regularly), that's only 6 week wear.

YANBU, I'd take it back.
