According to that map, where I live is completely unaffordable! Well, DH and I bought our first house together 6 months ago, with no family help and neither of us earning over £25k.
The key for us has been waiting to have children (we are currently age 29 and 31 so had the time) so that we could both work full time and rent a small, cheap flat whilst we saved our deposit, although I know that this is not possible for everyone of course. I know how lucky we are but it IS definitely possible!
