Like the site used to allow. I'd like a clarification on mn policy on this.

Hi all, as explained on the previous thread we received a lot of reports saying that the discussion of Rita Ora had strayed into really quite unpleasant territory and that it was no longer in the spirit of MN. We took a look, thought about what the thread would look like if we removed the particularly egregious posts (answer = swiss cheese) and, figuring that leaving it up for two days already had been enough for everyone to have their say on the matter of Rita Ora, we removed it. Every one of these things is a judgement call, based on our feelings and the feelings of those who are reporting in. Sometimes we'll get it right, sometimes we'll get it wrong. Sometimes a celebrity thread will stray into speculation that we think just goes too far beyond what we think of as the spirit of the site and we'll remove it. It doesn't mean all celebrity talk is banned, of course.
