Had an advert email thing from amazon. From young drivers.
They run birthday parties for kids 11 and over.
Not much if a party, just a 15/30 minute driving lesson. Then you get a room for snacks or whatever.
My ds will be 12, his mates 11. Would parents be ok with this as a party?
Or would they consider it dangerous? Even though that is what the company do.
We are looking at 6 kids. All reasonably sensible. Parents fairly down-to-earth.

I was about to book it, but suddenly got the wobbles!

I have chosen kids that I am fairly sure would love it, and behave enough to learn from it.

Would 15 minutes each be a bit 'stingy'?

2 kids per car, half the driving each.

What else should I do for them as 'party'?

Was thinking of having a laugh with retro (little-kid) games like pass the parcel.

Maybe a Pizza Hut delivery? To the room...

Or they could all sit there for an hour on their phones, playing mine craft...

I'd be fine. I wrote a load of copy once for a company that did this and it's all very safe.

15 mins each is plenty...after all, kids this age don't usually get to drive at all!

If you want to add an activity on then you could do a really silly pass the parcel with awful gifts like a plastic dog poo or vomit....boys of 11 love that stuff.

I was thinking 15 minutes was probably a good taster. They will get to start and stop the cars. They might hate it and be stuck there for half an hour!

I want to keep it as a surprise (to annoy my ds...) as my ds wouldn't sleep knowing that was coming up!

House, that's exactly the kind of thing!
Just have a laugh. 5 boys and a girl, so there will have to be something sparkly there too. And no saying who gets what...

My DS is 12 and would LOVE this. It's great idea Smile

Sorry to put a damper on, but there is also a height restriction. It's age 11 and they must be at least 1.4m tall (I think) so they can reach the pedals. It would be awful to invite someone along and them have to stand and watch their friends.

(Mum to a short 11yr old who really wanted to do it)

Rainbow, I have asked the height of the smallest one. He is just tall enough.
Thanks.

Oh that's good! In that case definitely go for it.
