To think neighbours are selfish feckers

Freely accept I may be overreacti had a hellish day and now a headache so might be clouding my judgement and I do realise compared to some I am very lucky with neighbours. However, I'm sick of selfish feckers aka the neighbours. Right next door had some right dodgy blokes in doing power washing. I came home and could not get in my drive as they were at it and there were stones and dirty everywhere on my side and fence and garage were mucky. I parked up road and walked in rain back to house with toddler and the main guy comes up to me not to apologise but to say he'lldo me a great deal of £100 to power wash mine too. Err no thanks! Rip off and it wasn't dirty before you made it a state!! I said no thanks just put it back way it was thanks and left to go in politely. Was caught up feeding DD so didn't check it again but my friend arrived just as they were finishing up and said he guy was hoping over my gate (jumping really they quite tall gates!). No idea why over my gate and definitely didn't clean it. Anyhow long story short it was better but still dirty and I spend the afternoon sweeping piles of dirt from my path and drive and hosing down fence. I was careful not to spray anything into neighbours side. He isn't come out once and only moved her car which was parked outside my window back into her drive late tonight. Not really her fault but she could have told the guys it wasn't acceptable to make a mess of my property just to clean hers! When DH did ours he put sheeting down on the neighbours property to catch all muck and ensured it was all swept up in their side.

So annoying selfish neighbour #2 is across the road. He's got his garage open and is sawing welding and whatever (there are big sparks I'm slightly worried hell set fire to his garage tbh). My DD has just been woke with it TWICE! He works away but whenever he's home he's in that bloody garage making a racket!! It's gone 9pm surely he shouldn't be making a noise?! He's got two little ones himself but the whole family keep strange hours (don't get me started on their weekly 9:30pm asda delivery with its broken engine and noise delivery man) aaarrrggg.

So I guess the AIBU are ..

AIBU to think too many neighbours are selfish feckers?
AIBU to think next door should have asked her workers to clean my property?
AIBU to ask across the road not to work so late in garage?
AIBU to tell Asda to buy a new delivery van that doesn't sound like its engine is dying?
AIBU to think I should really be living in isolation in middle of countryside and am not cut out for neighbours ;)

Weekly 9.30 asda delivery? Oh go no, shoot the fuckers for doing something so inconsiderate as normal life.

The jet washing thing is bad, but why didn't you just go round and speak to neighbour and make sure they knew it had to be cleared up?

RandomMess · 27/08/2015 21:26

Think you need Wine, I think people have no idea how much mess jet washing makes for their neighbours.

The racket over the road is inconsiderate at this time of night though. Shopping delivery not so IMHO

I'm pretty new in the street so didn't want to be a complainer. I'd have spoke to the men directly but they'd cleared off by time I'd finished dealing with dd lunch. As for the asda delivery it's not so much the neighbours but the bloody asda can being clearly on its last legs it's horrific and without fail wakes dd (also secretly jealous that neighbours with similar ages dc are able to arrange evening deliver as clearly their doc are asleep whereas mine is a terrible sleeper so I can't risk a noisy shop arriving as she'll wake)..

Yea think wine would help ;) Power washing is horrendously messy. I knew this which is why I made DH put down sheets etc in neighbours side when we did ours.

First neighbour might have no idea the workmen made a mess on your drive. Second, depends on distance/ volume to your house. Although with your complaint about asda Yabu regardless.

Feckadeck · 27/08/2015 21:39

The neighbour knew she was out when my friend arrived and saw guy jumping gate so he'd have seen. Fair enough asda one (though they should get better less noisy vans!)

My Asda shop always used to come about 10pm.....Blush. I would tick the 2-hour delivery slot starting at 8pm to make sure I was home and then it would ALWAYS arrive right at the end of the slot. I now drive to my local Aldi.

But the drilling and welding or whatever at 9pm and after would do my head right in, and the power washing thing sounds like a PITA.

Garage guy is across a standard residential street not that wide. i could hear over TV (though that was on low granted for fear of waking DD!)
