To think dh's best mate is a cheeky fecker?

Dh went to a funeral/wake yesterday. He didn't get home until 11.30 (Late funeral, followed by wake, entirely expected)

His mate, lets call him prick (not his real name) went to London with his gf on Tuesday, they saw a show, stayed the night, spent yesterday seeing the sights and then went to a Medieval Banquet thing last night.

At 11pm my mobile rang. I saw it was Prick, and ignored it, assuming he wanted DH.

House phone rings. Now I'm concerned so answer it, and the conversation went like this:

Prick "Hi Keith, we are at the train station 5 miles away, and haven't got any money - can you tell dh to come and get us?"

Me "No. he's at a wake. He's been drinking, so he won't be able to come and get you.

Prick "can you come then?"

Me "What? No. Dd is in bed"

Prick. "So? It'll only take you 10 minutes"

Me "NO! It is 11pm and my 4 year old is alseep"

Prick "What about if you phone Dh, tell him to come home, then he can stay in with her while you come and get us?"

Me " What goes click, Derrrrrrrr?" (Hung up)

Aibu to think if you can afford a West End Show, dinner, hotel, sightseeing, and a medieval night you should make damn sure you've got enough money to get your stupid arse home from the train station?

I am the most useless name changer ever!

They were very rude, childish and irresponsible. People should stop helping them and let them deal with the consequences. Are you the lady with the weird stalker neighbour? If so, why don't you introduce them and put her onto them? She'll be only too glad to help them out!

CatThiefKeith · 27/08/2015 21:08

Stayanotherday they know each other, it's only a small village. They don't get on though. On the rare occasions we go out as a four I get sly digs from neighbour about having been out with 'my best mates' Grin

In fairness she's been very uiet of late so I had better not jinx it.

Oh Cat they should make a programme about your village Grin. That 's so funny, yes best leave it lie!

CatThiefKeith · 27/08/2015 21:28

They should so do a series about it.

It'd be like a cross between Midsommer, Friends, Lovejoy and Heartbeat, with affairs and fights thrown in for luck!

I think it's because it's so small we all know each other's business, and have cabin fever a la Jack Nicholson in the shining

They should just rename CLASSICS as

CatThiefKeithGrin

quangotango · 27/08/2015 21:36

I had a cheeky fucker moment today as well.

DPs friend asked him this evening if I could have his kids over tomorrow because they are fighting a lot and he is trying to work from home. I have my own kids who are fighting a lot and am trying to work from home. I was not amused.

CatThiefKeith · 27/08/2015 21:37

DuststarrI have never made the heady heights of Classics sadly. One day though Rodney Grin

CatThiefKeith · 27/08/2015 21:54

Quango I hope you said 'what's good looking and hangs up?' Just before you put the phone down on him? Grin

OP posts:
quangotango · 27/08/2015 22:01

sadly he asked me face to face so I was denied that pleasure. I will remember it for the next occasion though.

CatThiefKeith · 27/08/2015 22:05

Did you laugh hysterically and pretend you thouht he was joking? Wink

quangotango · 27/08/2015 22:19

I think I said: "are you fucking serious, do I look like I want to look after anymore bickering kids on the last day of the school holidays with a few hours notice while I am also trying to work and you are swanning about in London and he is round the corner with his fucking feet up?"

stayanotherday · 27/08/2015 22:23

I'll make sure I tune in! Yes it should Dustarr.Glad you didn't Quango. Some people are very rude. So many people are spoilt and irresponsible. The thing is they might really need help one day but people won't want to know.

CatThiefKeith · 27/08/2015 22:45

Well done Quango. I hope they had the decency to blush.

The phrase "neck like a jockeys bollocks" springs to mind..
I loved how you hung up cat!!

BlueBananas · 27/08/2015 23:00

I have always read your name as 'Cathie of Keith' it's only now you've name changed that I've realised what it actually says!

PiperChapstick · 28/08/2015 00:28

What goes click, Derrrrrrrr?" (Hung up)

GENIUS!! Grin

But yes what a total wanking twat

borisgudanov · 28/08/2015 00:43

If I were your DH - and assuming that they made this phone call when they were pissed tired and emotional - I'd phone Prick up at 7.30 the following morning and give him an extended bollocking, during the course of which I'd be requiring Prick to take down his PA facebook statuses, post a clarification, and apologise to my DW. Failing which I'd excommunicate.

It wouldn't surprise me if he'd been a twat to the train conductor as well.

YANBU. What a couple of arseholes.

borisgudanov · 28/08/2015 01:09

Usually the cheeky fecker pulls something cheeky, and either gets away with it or is put in his or her place. The best ones are where the cheeky fecker seems to have no idea that his or her conduct is in any sense U, and proceeds to continue to act like an arse in a way that genuinely leads one to wonder whether - and this is the thread which coined the phrase - the cheeky fecker is on glue.

I refer of course to Gluezilla, which IMHO sets the standard.

Fatmomma99 · 28/08/2015 01:54

How do you find "classics"

irrelevant question, but I'd really like to know!

dustarr73 · 28/08/2015 04:46

Fatmomma99 its in Mumsnet Stuff

FeelsLikeHome123 · 28/08/2015 23:06

Alpaca I would imagine if we had a 'creepy stalker' emoticon it would be [Jeffrey] Grin.
