Daily Male, women bashing yet again, so men are incapable of picking up a vacuume or a duster then! What with JSP comments about women past 20 not wearing bikinis. I used to like the DM, after reading this and a couple of others, I know why you all hate it.

Yep. That's pretty much the case. We've evolved to be a healthy weight on available food living an active life. Now food is much more readily available and historically cheaper than it's ever been and we live sedentary lives, we're fat.
Look at any timeline of monarchs through the ages and it's striking how fat how many of them are. We're all living like kings now.

Why are you moaning about the DM? Don't bloody read it if you don't like it which you obviously do, like the majority on here The article tells the truth about housework burning cals. Men were never kept slim through housework but women certainly were. Now we just slob about at work stuck behind desks eating mindlessly .

Because they're more likely to drive to work, to do a sedentary job, live in a house with central heating, watch more TV, eat between meals, not eat 3 square meals sitting down, drink more..,

The headline is different from the article. And it actually says that nen have no excuse as they do more.

The gist of the article is that women used to be more active across the day before washing machines etc. house work burnt more calories.

Lots of people now have jobs where they don't move much either.

Must be the same as why women are larger, fast food, not very much exercise.

The article is really saying that women used to be more active because housework was more manual. Now they don't move as much. Even though men do more housework now than before, it's still not labour intensive.

But that goes for everybody. We are less active than previous generations.
