I am 7 weeks and really struggling with sickness I'm not throwing up its just the feeling of being sick and I have it all day every day.
I was wondering what you have tried to help ease it as I can't deal with it any more it does seem that carbs are the easiest thing for me to get down but nothing like crackers of ginger is working

Its horses for courses tbh. What works for one person may not work for you.

Peppermint has been known to help so sucking mints or chewing gum. Some people swear by sipping very cold fizzy pop. Eating small meals often. Sucking hard boiled sweets. Travel sickness bands.

Trial and error I'm afraid Flowers

You have my full sympathy but I don't really have any tips, nothing helped mine.

I would say though that it definitely improved incrementally and you are at the stage when mine peaked. Try not to think about the (possible) weeks ahead and just concentrate on today and what you can face eating. My GP told me there was nothing she could do to help me and it could last till 16 weeks and left me feeling deflated and wondering how to get through what seemed like an eternity. As it was I definitely started feeling better and by 12 weeks it had gone entirely. (It was a different story with my second but then it goes to show you can't predict.)

Congratulations!

Anything sugary worked for me. Just keep your blood sugar up.

It sucks though but will pass.

faintlyoptimistic · 23/08/2015 11:17

Lucozade was the only thing that helped me. I don't normally like fizzy drinks either!

JustMeOverHere · 23/08/2015 11:33

I found if I kept eating I was ok - biscuits especially but I couldn't cook or be around food smells at all.
Sipping water constantly too.

DefinitelyNotElsa · 23/08/2015 11:41

Sorry to hear you're suffering. I was the same - nausea, but no vomiting. It was exhausting.

I lived off of plain carbs, apples and full sugar coke. It was boring, but helped a lot.

Rebecca2015 · 23/08/2015 12:52

Thank you for all your support and suggestions I'll get some travel sickness bands, boiled sweets and peppermint stuff I'm willing to try anything tbh x

Try P6 acupressure point.

GothicRainbow · 23/08/2015 13:02

I had travel sickness bands which did help and also eating bags and bags of ready salted walkers!

quesadillas6 · 23/08/2015 13:08

Just have whatever you can face. Over two pregnancies for me at various times that's been fruit, cereal bars, salad, eggs,,raw carrots. I gave up trying to be balanced. Lucozade is good just to keep sugar up and get a bit of energy.

Witchend · 23/08/2015 13:47

The only thing that really helped was giving birth Grin

The travel sick bands haeped a little until I'd lost enough weight they weren't tight any more.

Fizzy full fat coke was probably the best thing. And generally salty things were better, particularly snacking things I could nibble on.

I had different things in different pregnancies that helped. Dd1 I would find something that helped, go and buy (or send dh) to buy multiple packets of, then half way through the first packet I'd go off them never to touch them again.
Dd2 I sucked sweets. Lollies mostly. Amazingly didn't end up with teeth issues as others I know who did that.
Ds I found plain things I could actually keep down. Baked potatoes with a little cheese. Bread sticks, that sort of thing.

The best help anyone gave me was to say each what you like when you like and don't worry too much about how healthy it is. I only really obeyed that with ds, and was better with him.

Ginger burns on the way back up, my youngest one is now 8yo and I'd still not keen on it. And don't whatever you do have any milk drinks. It curdles.

Couldashouldawoulda · 23/08/2015 13:59

You could ask your GP for some cyclizine. It's thought to be safe in pregnancy and it sorted my nausea right out. Great stuff.

Mintyy · 23/08/2015 14:05

Are you being unreasonable about what though?

Binkybix · 23/08/2015 15:04

Nesquik (sp?) and ice lollies for me.

londonrach · 23/08/2015 15:10

Sister found french fancies worked.

ValancyJane · 23/08/2015 15:13

Sugary things helped me - particularly fizzy sweets and ice pops. Hope you feel better soon, it does pass!!

girlywhirly · 23/08/2015 15:33

Chewing raisins was good for me, in fact eating generally.

Moopsboopsmum · 23/08/2015 15:45

Never getting hungry, eat little and often, I could only eat super, super bland things that were white. No tomatoes etc. only things like egg mayo on white bread. Pasta with white sauce and cheese, some chicken and potato. Oh and he is a very, very fussy eater no he is out! Yay. Congratulations and good luck. Flowers

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 23/08/2015 15:45

Little and often, of anything you can eat.
Try not to let your blood sugar dip.
It might be worth getting your doc to check your iron levels too.

FarFromAnyRoad · 23/08/2015 17:07

I don't know if this will work for you OP but DH is a digestive healthcare professional and it is well known amongst his colleagues that apple juice is great for reducing nausea. You can half and half it with fizzy water. It really worked for me when I had awful nausea after my gallbladder op a while ago.
