AIBU to want to go and wake DH up?

It has just gone 5am, I have been up since 3am, when 8 month DD woke DH and I up with her squeaking. DH dealt with her first, brought her in to our room, but didn't change her. Dh went back to sleep, DD carried on squeaking, so I got up and changed her and it turned out she was squeaking because she was wet. Once changed, DD went back to sleep.

Both DD and DH have been snoring their heads off since they went back to bed at 3am.

Me, OTOH, I have been awake since I changed DD because I can't get back to sleep. (Hence lurking on MN since stupid o'clock).

I am annoyed. because I like my sleep.

Would IBU to go and hit DH over the head with DD's wet nappy, make him get up and make him make me a coffee? If I'm awake, he should be too! ::whines::

Mitigating circs: DH is a hard working farmer, who needs his sleep. He was knackered last night after a long day, but still found time to walk the dogs for an hour with me and DD and he is a really decent DH & dad who more than pulls his weight with DD.

BUT I am a pwecious Princess, and this is all about ME. If I am awake, he should be too, pandering to my every whim. How dare he be snoring his head off, while I am drinking tea at 5am and surfing on MN doing the VAT return.

MEN! Views please. The dirty nappy is waiting.

YANBU to want him to be awake with you. But YWBHugelyU to wake him.

As a farmer he'll be waking up soon anyway won't he? Make yourself a coffee for now, enjoy some peace and quiet and MN / internetting.

shiteforbrains - I feel your pain. DH is snoring, but only enough to stop me sleeping. And now the cat is also yowling to go out. It's a conspiracy!

YANBU OP! I am also married to a snoring farmer who has managed to sleep through every banshee wail our 10wk DD has produced during the night!

I know he works hard and has long hours, but he finished at 6pm because of the rain today, gets at least 7hrs sleep per night and spent the whole evening asleep in front of the TV Anyway. How he can sleep through I don't know! Thank god there's only 600ac wheat and we're done!

Harvest has been a real challenge for me this year and am currently
Trying to persuade a bright eyed smiley and very awake baby that it's still sleeping time!

Oh god ClaireFraser - DO NOT get me started on the bloody harvest! I feel your pain!

Dh has been bitching about the weather for weeks, has really struggled to make hay and ended up buying a new wrapper yesterday so that he can at least make decent quality haylage, because his old one "wasn't up to the job". Hmm

We've got 150ac Barley that he wants to put round up on so that he can "push it on", then there is his wheat and beans and then the Maize... so of course, he's stressing about the rain I'm going to hit him over the head with the weather app on the iPad and we've also got to sort out the sheep for flushing before we put the rams in...

So yes, he needs his sleep, as do I. But he SHOULD STILL BE AWAKE!

Like your DH, mine can sleep through every squeak and wail. He can even sleep through his bastarding sodding alarm clock which is going to end up in his arse one day.

My farmer dh managed to creep out of bed at 5 without wakening me to go and load the grain lorries only for the phone to ring half hour later with a furious neighbour informing me out cows were in his garden!

The dogs with dh so I have just spent the last hour and a half trying to persuade 12 silly heifers to vacate said garden and return to their field which some kind person had decided to leave the gate wide open Confused

Added to which it's pissing down with rain and dh is going to be in a serious grump because there's still 600 ha of corn to cut.....

I feel your pain re tinies - thankfully we've come out the other side but I still remember the rage........
